I do prefer to work with facts as most people do.
- There is a belief in the community that Imu gave the Five Elders and Shamrock's sword Devil Fruit abilities.
I want to draw attention to the fact that:
A) There has never been a confirmation that Imu can "bestow" powers to people in the form of Devil Fruit abilities.
- This reasoning depends on if Imu has a "Devil's Contract" in place with the receiver of the ability. It is also believed he can only give people Zoan abilities because the Five Elders have Zoan forms.
B) The traditional way weapons have been given Devil Fruit abilities is through an unknown process by Dr. Vegapunk.
- While it is true that he found a way to get weapons to eat Zoan fruits, the reasoning behind Imu doing it relies on him making people sign a "Devil's Contract" to receive the ability.
How does a sword sign a contract? Is it Shamrock who signed the contract? Can Imu even do this or is this headcanon based on popular theories?
Bonus question: If these aren't "Devil Fruit abilities" then does that mean the Five Elders can eat a fruit on-top of having a bestowed ability from Imu?
Note: Imu can only give 13 people Depths or Abyssal covenants. Among them, it is believed the Holy Knights have Depths covenants and the Five Elders have Abyssal covenants. It is the Abyssal type people believe grants a Devil Fruit ability.
