Yes. Just cause we saw it doesn’t mean it never happened. Only the first part of the fight was shown, and then the post-fight gas attack.
It makes no sense for Jack to be unable to beat either Inu or Neko, for five days straight, and not at any point use his hybrid to try and get the upper hand. It’s not like hybrid is a G4/Su Long where there are side effect.

Wouldn’t it be a bit out of place for Inu to do something as important as beat a Calamity solo when the rest of the Scabbards are doing far less important things? Ashura got KOed by an Oden drawing, Kiku got stabbed by Kanjuro, Kin’emon took out a weakened Kanjuro and then immediately got one shot by Kaido, Raizo is fighting Fukurojuku (who isn’t exactly a huge threat like Jack), Izo and Kawamatsu are probably gonna end up jobbing to King or Queen or fight Numbers, and Denjiro is probably either gonna fight Numbers or, hopefully not, weaken Sasaki for Franky. Inu would be accomplishing much more than the rest of his peers if he wins. Also, Inu winning makes no sense from a powerscaling perspective since the Dukes individually were portrayed below Jack at Zou, so how is Inu beating Jack solo this time? Inu isn’t important enough to get a power up, and it wouldn’t make sense for him to get one since that would put him above Neko
It’s like Kyros beating Diamente while the Grand Fleet members only got officers (and Orlumbus and Ideo didn’t even get that).
A mink needs to beat Jack for what happened at Zou, Oda’s set it up to be Inu, that’s what’s going to happen. Powerscaling is irrelevant- Jack couldn’t beat Inu in five days either, the fight on Onigashima started with the two of them saying they were relatively equal-, what happens with the other Scabbards is mostly irrelevant- they aren’t Minks and never had a grudge built up with Jack. The only slightly odd thing is Neko seemingly not helping out, but it seems Oda’s decided that dealing with the Pedro/Perospero plot point is more important for him, which makes sense since Neko was his direct leader.

He most likely didn't. Kaido also fought Big Mom for long without using hybrid himself and Zou was just an introductionary arc for what would happen in Wano. It's something Oda probably wanted to reserve for later.
In the current arc, he created a myth around Kaido's hybrid for multiple chapters, when Queen went to hybrid, the fodders hyped it, most likely it'd be the case as well when Jack will go hybrid mode

I don’t think Inu should be compared to Kyros. Kyros was, from the very beginning of Dressrosa, clearly one of the main characters of the arc. I’d say that only characters like Luffy, Law, Doflamingo, and Sabo were more important to the plot of Dressrosa, and Kyros was arguably as important to the plot as Zoro, Fujitora, and Sugar were. Meanwhile, Inu is basically just a side character in this arc. His presence was basically nonexistent in Acts 1 and 2, and in Act 3, he wasn’t really received that much spotlight, with basically all the spotlight he did receive being shared with the rest of the Scabbards. Kyros beating one of the main bads was much more understandable than Inu doing so, especially since Kyros beating Diamante actually made sense powerscaling wise, as opposed to Inu beating Jack. Not to mention that a majority of the bad guys in Dressrosa were beat by allies as opposed to SHs, as opposed to Wano, where 8 of the 9 bad guys (Kaido, All Stars, and Flyers) are seemingly gonna be beat by SHs. Jack losing to a non SH would be really out of place, especially since that character isn’t particularly relevant
