Coby stopped Akainu and stopped the war for a few moments. His words were the most important thing because it triggered Akainu but also Sengoku who didn't realise what was happening.
Akainu wanted to kill Coby after that, Shanks appeared and said this line "young soldier, you did well because the few seconds you talked, probably changed the outcome of this war".
Sengoku didn't stop because of Shanks because his side would have stomped RHP but because of Coby and his true words.
