Questions & Mysteries Did Mihawk Turn his Sword Black? Or was it already Black when he got it?

#1
So far the only person "Confirmed" to have permanently turned a Sword Black is Ryuma. (And that is even suspected, if his feats were exaggerated through legend over time.)
Did Mihawk turn Yoru black, or was it already black when he got it? Like Shusui and Zoro?
Yoru is the "Legendary Black Blade" literally meaning "Night". and is one of the twelve Highest Grade Swords.
So was Mihawk the one that gave it that name after he turned it permanently black? or was it Black before and them given to Mihawk?

We have to go with Mihawk since he also thought Zoro to make his sword black and see a dent on it as a dent to his honor as a swordsman, that and the fact Mihawk and Ryuma are by far the greatest swordsman we have seen so far (and the only ones with a sword fetish bar Zoro and maybe some other dude in Wano). So, until we know for example that before Mihawk there was an even stronger WSS who used the same black yoru (you see this is really difficult) we have to give it to Mihawk.

There nothing suspect about Ryuma turning his sword black. The manga says he turned his sword black. The only thing that needs to be clarified is how he went about it.

Based off everything we know about Mihawk, his pride as a swordsman and what he taught Zoro there's no reason at this time to believe Mihawk didn't turn his sword black.

When he was teaching Zoro haki he told h if he would have turn his blade black it wouldn't have broke.

Occam's razor suggest he turned it black himself.

@CbShadow explains it succinctly.

Who would have Mihawk gotten it from exactly? And why would he be using it if he knows it wasn't forged by his own haki? Mihawk stated that any damage to a blade is a shame for a swordsman, which is why having powerful CoA is so important; this would be a very misplaced ideology to have if you went around swinging a sword which attributes its hardness to anyone's but your own efforts.

Tell me u laughed or I will cry:josad::josad::josad:
Don't remember saying this but it was probably me.
:yasu:

Nice Walmart Canute avy.
I laughed Seth, it's ok.

yes he did turn it black himself

what kind of questions r these lmao

unless u think he went down to walmart and bought it pre-dyed black

if mihawk had to beat someone to obtain this sword, then that means he is > the previous sword owner. Means its more likely mihawk is the one to turn it black, than the previous sword owner.
You will figure out who the trolls are soon enough mate. This fine specimen of OP here, is just one of the many.
