Imo it doesn’t make much sense if GB beat Weevil fair and square. Raizo and Shinobu were put in a comatose state when GB gave them liposuction. If Weevil also got liposuction, he’s wouldn’t be awake and shouting for his mommy.

We know GB thinks that people not affiliated with the WG have no human rights, so it makes sense that he’d used Bakkin and the Sphinx villagers as hostages to capture Weevil easily

Weevil being a hype tool for GB doesn’t even make much sense narratively. Weevil’s power level was totally undefined. His best feat is negging A.O., and the only hype he got was having physical strength comparable to Young WB, which doesn’t say much since Haki is way more important than raw physical strength strength, and Weevil’s Haki almost certainly can’t hold a candle to WB’s (not to mention Weevil has no DF while WB had one of the best Paramecias). So Weevil supposedly getting bodied by GB would say more about Weevil’s power level than it would about GB’s. And I don’t see the point in Weevil being a weakling when he has nothing going for him character wise besides his strength.

Were already given a baseline for Weevils strength. He’s comparable to a Whitebeard in his youth and he’s a warlord. That’s genuinely enough then having Ryo neg him casually helps establish the admiral power level which has been needed since fujis ass ruined it.

Yep, Weevil is just WB’s physical strength.

Obvsly WB has haki and a DF on top of what he shares with Weevil, but the entire point of the Weevil scene was to give Ryokugyu some credibility

I'm willing to bet he beat him fairly but it's not like he had him on death's door or anything. Probably just beat on him a little and tied him up then dipped.
I think old Stussy would have mentioned that he used hostages, but the fact she didn't, and just said that Weevil was no match for him, means Aramaki probably fought him fairly.
