Powers & Abilities Do Black Blades Require Conqueror Haki?

#1
My position here is that Black Blades are exclusive to Armament Haki Specialists. However, with how rare it is for somebody to make one, it can easily imply that at a high level of Armament Mastery a specialist can access Conqueror Coating which is primarily a Conqueror Mastery ability and that through a combination of Armament Haki and Conqueror Haki a Black Blade can be forged.

The evidence may suggest otherwise because it is said a Black Blade is forged over countless battles, and I think Armament Specialists primarily infuse it with Armament Haki throughout that time. They may be able to infuse Conqueror Haki into it as well, at high levels of mastery, but the driving force in a Black Blade is the Armament Haki resonance which leaves parts of its energy in the sword each time it is used. It gradually reaches a point where the resonance is high enough to cause it to become altered as a form of superalloy.

Generally, on this website, people believe that Conqueror Coating is the trigger for a Black Blade to be forged. The reasoning that supports this includes such things as a belief that Conqueror Coating will become permanent in the same way as I described Armament Haki permanently altering the blade.

A counterpoint to this is that Armament Haki characteristics include hardness, and Black Blades are unbreakable. That is not a Conqueror Haki characteristic. In fact, a Conqueror characteristic contradicts this because they can't use low grade weapons. They would break them. A characteristic of Conquerors is that they use so much force that they require a Supreme Grade blade to use the full extent of their strength.

From my perspective, both arguments have merit, but there are some indiscrepancies between them. Conqueror's Haki is mysterious still, so it's not impossible that it evolves the blade, but there are many things pointing to Armament Haki too.

Not a fan of the idea that you can only achieve the absolute pinnacle of swordsmanship if you’re lucky enough to be born with conqueror’s haki

It should be something that anyone with enough grit, determination, and willpower can achieve

The bar should be set incredibly high of course (which it is, only Mihawk and Ryuma are confirmed black blade wielders) but it should be something that anyone is capable of on paper imo

That would also make it even more impressive to me. If hypothetically speaking any swordsman ever could make a black blade but failed to do so

Official ''Master'' Swordsman is clueless about CoC:

Both Luffy and Gaban are surprised that how clueless ''master'' swordsman Zolo is.

Sword Swallowers believe this, the vast majority do not.

At this time nobody knows the secret to create a black blade but are a few things we do know.

Black blades are the rarest power or thing in the entire manga. Black blades are forged by blade users and is a strength feat. Black blades are forged from a history of battle. Haki is required to forge a black blade. It is unknown if just CoA haki is needed, CoA and CoC haki is needed or if even all three types of haki are needed. Any blade can become a black blade.

Neither Oden's father nor Mihawk mentioned anything about haki specialist when it comes to forging a black blade. This disbelief only CoA specialist can forge a black blade is not supported at all. Anyone claiming that's fact is pushing headcannon.

Based on manga facts, the only benefit to specializing in a certain haki is it is easier for you to unlock that haki. Nothing more. Zoro unlocked CoC coating shortly after he obtained CoC. He learning CoC at a faster pace than he learn CoA haki.

I think the explanation is more likely than not going to include some metaphysical and spiritual components and it will go deeper than basic haki based-explanations.
When swords are said to have personalities, fruits have souls inside them and a blade can obtain supernatural powers because it was forged with a lot of "be good at killing"-mantra, it only makes sense to include such things.

I think a crucial aspect will be the relationship between the owner and his blade.
Most "swordsmen" or weapon users only use their weapons as a tool and not live by the blade. Whereas Mihawk and Zoro really live by the blade and follow a specific inverse swordsmen (honor) code even. They really go all in on it.

Imo CoC will be the substance that transfers their will "do not break" on or into their blade. The blade, after accepting them as their master, recognizes their determination and passion and will and therefore slowly adapt to it.
-> The substance with which they protected it through multiple battles will get absorbed and the sword pretty much "evolves" into a permanently CoA hardened blade, merging with the owner's will and power.

Something along those lines. Similar to the concepts of "Zoans choosing their users" and DF awakenings in general.

The participation of CoC explains why non CoC users forged one (otherwise: Vista? Wano folks?) and the importance of the owner's attune to life and their relationship to their blade explain why most other top tier weapon users never forged a blackened weapon (also includes guys like Gaban and WB).

It cannot just be a quantative argument such as "haki often on sword -> sword gets black" otherwise it would be a common phenomenon.
