The whole goal from the beginning was to kill Kaido. Law, Kidd, and the Scabbards all want him dead. Yamato has declared that she wanted him dead. Zoro wants him dead too I believe? Luffy has only stated that he wants to take him down. He's not the type to kill.

Kaido once said he wanted to die, while attempting to kill himself multiple times. The guillotine broke when he was in line for execution by the Navy. Oda also told us that he "can't be killed".

You think Kaido is actually killed though? Or is he just "knocked out" and jailed by the Navy much like Doflamingo? And if he's captured, how do they execute him after failing over and over? He'll just escape their grasp again and return to Wano. But even if the Navy or Vegapunk found a way to kill him, would that not be the most unsatisfying option?

They haven't really expanded on why Kaido can't die and it seems like he now wants to live and find OP with BM?

How does Oda play this? Is Luffy about to get his first kill with a punch? Does Luffy let Kaido live only for Zoro to wake up and cut his head off despite Luffy's orders? But then how can Zoro kill Kaido when Kaido himself can't take his own life?

Or does Oda just scrap the whole "Kaido dying" thing? There are a lot of character and plot holes here with Kaido. And if Luffy gets the kill as goofy Joy Boy would the fanbase not revolt against Luffy smiling and goofily laughing like a child over Kaido's dead body? Or would the laughter come off as a "Joker-inspired darker version of Luffy"?

Is the general consensus that if Kaido dies, the only way it happens is by ZKK?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm curious to see what people think.

He'll die for sure... There's no point on making him out alive since this arc is meant by Oda to surpass MF arc, capturing him doesn't make sense either...

A better question would be who will kill Kaido? Luffy doesn't kill (no character in OP can kill with a punch/kick), Zoro is unconscious, Kid and Law have no strength left, Killer is injured, BM is good as dead, Mr. Go is dead, no other characters left are capable of even just severely damaging him...

This is what makes the Kaido dying thing so mysterious right now. There's no one in a position to kill him but Luffy, who doesn't kill. If Luffy gets his first kill, then his character would need to drastically change or it wouldn't make sense. And killing Kaido with a big rubber punch seems stupid. I'd be fine with Luffy turning into a darker version of himself personally and mercilessly killing Kaido in some way other than a punch, but I don't think the rest of the fanbase would feel the same way. If Kaido dies, I just hope Oda thought it through in a way that makes sense. Because I don't really see any way it happens unless Blackbeard shows up. But at this point I think Oda is gonna go with the "knocked out" option.

Oda isn't known for killing off every villain in each arc. Obviously special exceptions can apply to certain individuals. Expecting Yamato to kill her own father is a bit much. If Yamato does end up joining the crew, the killing of her father by one of the crew members seems a bit awkward.

My personal opinion is Kaido will just lose three limbs max.

Kaido die to who?
BM and Kid are the only ones whom Oda can give them that privilege

Oda only makes top rivals of Luffy or top tiers kill Yonko :
Teach killed WB, Kid might kill Kaido or it might be BM or Teach again.

I doubt kaido is dying anyway.

My main prediction is:

- Luffy vs Kaidou. Luffy's strongest attack overpowers Kaidou's strongest attack and also permanently destroys Kaidou's haki. After that, Kaidou still wants to fight and Luffy happily obliges. But at some point, Kaidou's body just give out by itself in the end. Basically, Luffy defeats him and annihilates his threat permanently, but leaves him alive. While Kaidou is the one actually killing himself , destroying his own body by keep fighting.

---

While my plan B is ZKK by Zoro's execution after Luffy defeats him.

If there's a villian that can die, that's Kaido. He's too strong to keep around, too relevant to keep in jail. His entire existence, from his introduction, till now, has evolved around him having that "grand death".
Most people who argue against it is because they don't want Zoro to kill him, which is the most obvious person to do anyway

Akainu was able to kill with a punch.

And Sanji's flames are much hotter than Akainu's magma

Love this post just because of the fact you wrote it so serious and included Mr go in there without skipping a beat

Kaido being an exception to the "Luffy doesn't kill" makes sense and is a good change... Perhaps it can make Luffy realize more that killing is inevitable and something he cannot dodge on his way to become a PK...
If there was ever one for luffy wouldn't blackbeard make more sense.
