There's a popular saying; Curiosity killed the cat, and that seems to be the main theme of wonder egg priority episode 5. Unlike the previous episodes, this one is quite tame in comparison. We get lighthearted SOL scenes depicting the gang in a state of bliss.

They have truly became friends, participating in fun activities, and revealing their darkest secrets. However, the most important factor in this episode, is the subtle drop of hints about ai's stepfather. It's revealed that he is momoes uncle, and from her perspective he's a kind gentleman that adopts cats everyday. But obviously Ai doesn't take kindly to such claims, considering her mysterious hatred for the guy.

And Rika being the obnoxious yet observant genius she is; potentially answers the question we've all been asking for! Is Momoe's uncle a pedophile? Throughout every flashback, the uncle has always been seen very close to koito; I would dare say way too touchy for my likings. And when Rika "jokes" about the guy avoiding AI because he fears that AI has credible proof of his misdeeds, the layers just keep adding up! And now I ask you guys, was the uncle dating Ai's mom while he was spending time with Koito's freind, or is this all a huge elaborate scheme to get his hands on Ai?

Now obviously this could all be a façade imagined by impressionable young girls. Remember that that teenagers are not the best at coping with their emotions, and are far more willing to conceal their struggles than share it with an adult. Hell it's a common theme in other dementia based stories, where teens gain powers and use their abilities to fight against evil, but the story develops into an introspective discussion on battling the inner demons of the mind. So I wouldn't be surprised if the uncle turned out to be innocent, and it's just Ai being an irrational teenage girl; thus this whole affair of events backfire on Ai later in the story, as Ai gets too curious in her uncles past.

Nevertheless, Ai is not the only who made stride growths this episode; Neiru has finally gotten an episode dedicated to herself! This time the morale of the story revolving around the everlasting struggle to maintains one beauty through aging. Neiru finally encounters her sister, and instead of it being your standard damsel in distress, the tables flip as Neiru is in dire struggle battling against unstoppable beast, as her sister antagonizes her, questioning why she doesn't die to keep her youthful beauty. And only until Neiru accepts the truth of her past, is she willing to defeat her sister stunting an epic super hero-esque quote; "I will blow your mind".

This quote is very important people! It also correlates with the battle in the beginning against the pedophile. In that encounter, the creep wanted to remit things with the girl into simpler times. It seems to be a common theme for each of these demons to belittle their victims attempt at growing past their meek selves, and attempt to encage them in an everlasting state of mediocrity. Thus, when Neiru states she'll blow his mind, it's a diss to her doubters, stating that she will surpass their expectations!

Now this sounds all hopeful and cheerful, until we realize this is just the calm before the storm. When Rika asked the most important question; "why can't we just stop buying eggs', this breaks the façade of happiness, enacting conflict between the girls once again, and worst of all causing Neiru to return to her shell. Don't be surprised if we get some madoka magica levels of shock in the upcoming episodes, with Neiru being the Mami in this situation; it doesn't help that the sketchy melonheads are revealing their inner kyubey more and more each episode.
