To make a meme that was so counterproductive that it brainwashed everybody to think One Piece could do no wrong... I'm not for capital punishment but some jail time sounds reasonable for that

The Goda meme kinda reminds me of this "4d chess" meme that trump supporters used to propagate. Basically, every time Trump did something stupid or irresponsible, his supporters would claim that it was "4d chess". That Trump's folly's were't simply glaring evidence of his own incompetence but rather part of some sort of masterfully crafted plan to ensnare his enemies.

I think Goda is similar in that it suggests Oda is smarter than he really is and tries to excuse obviously bad writing by painting clear fuckups as being part of some sort of grand masterplan.

It's the same as Eminem making "Stan" to tell people how bad being a fanatic is

and people started using Stan as a fandom term

Why would he? He was impressed with the chapter when it happen and probably still love oda writing hell the people that don't love oda writing still around lol :kayneshrug:
