The latest chapter (1162) had another interesting little reference to "The World". And I just want to explore what that could mean for a little bit.
A lot of people seem to think that this could mean that Imu could be like this world's version of Gaia the Spirit of the Earth. And while that's possible, that's not the way I'm personally leaning. I'm personally still betting on Imu having the Forest God Fruit. Which could give them a connection to the planet. But...probably not a connection greater than the literal likely Earth God Fruit, which Loki may have.
So, if it doesn't mean that Imu is the spirit of the planet, what could it mean?
Well, first of all, let's look at the original Japanese. Both times that someone refers to "The World", they're really saying "Sekai" (世界).

The kanji that make up "Sekai" are "World" and "Boundary" or "Kingdom". And it doesn't necessarily just mean "The World", but it can also mean "The Universe" or "Existence". "Everything" more or less.

This is kind of fitting for someone who currently "rules the world" like Imu does.
But, personally, I kind of have to wonder if Oda is setting up a bit of a pun here. A alternate "spelling" of "Sekai", that could give away the endgame of the story a bit.
First, a little set up. I think at this point, it seems pretty clear that some part of this planet has been artificially altered. We have the existence of the Red Line, which the whales seem to believe is unnatural. We've been told about "Continent Pullers" like Oars, who could have literally moved islands to different locations, in order to suit the whims of those "redesigning" the World. And we've seen Logia Awakenings that have been able to change the very environment around them, like the fight between Akainu and Aokigi forever altering Punk Hazard's environment. It seems pretty clear that this planet has been somehow "altered" from it's original form. How much exactly is hard to say. But the World in the present day is likely the result of massive changes that happened during the First and Second Worlds.
So, I think it'd be interesting if there was a alternate "spelling" of "Sekai" that reflected that. I propose that eventually Imu may be refered to as..."Sei-Kai" (星改). From "Sei", like "Gorosei", meaning "Star" or "Heavenly Body". And "Kai", like in Dragon Ball Z Kai, meaning "Altered" or "Revised". Basically a word that SOUNDS like "Sekai", but meaning basically "Altered Planet".

Thus hinting that Imu is partially responsible for changing this planet, and terraforming it, in order to suit their whims. Imu would be called "Sei-Kai", because Imu is responsible for why the World is in it's current, unnatural state.
This would also work for Blackbeard's goal. His plan may be to gain the power to "Alter the World" for himself. Changing it as it suits him. I think this is a pretty fitting goal for Blackbeard.
I'll admit...I kind of just made this "word" up. So, I have no idea if "Sei-Kai" works as a word in Japanese. Still, I think it'd be interesting wordplay. Hiding the truth in a word that sounds like the word you're saying.
But, there's one other major mention about "The World" that I wanted to loop in here. And that's what I hinted at with the title. Gol D Roger's execution speech.

Now, notably, Roger doesn't actually use "Sekai" here when referring to "The World". He actually using "Yo" (世). Which is a part of "Sekai", but not the whole thing. Probably indicating a difference between the two.
This "The World" is probably different than "The World" referring to Imu. And I think the "Yo" could be referencing the "Original World", before it was altered or terraformed by Imu and/or the Ancient Kingdom.

Which means what Roger ACTUALLY said could be translated as "I left the Child of the United World there." Which means, the One Piece Treasure, or at least Roger's portion of it, could be a PERSON! Or at least something living.
And I think we may have seen just what that something was, before.
Because, if you look at the article explaining the kanji, another archaic reading of "Ko" is actually "bird's egg".
So, I think it's entirely possible that the One Piece Treasure has been in plain sight for a long time now.
The One Piece Treasure (or again, at least what Roger left at Laugh Tale) could be...Roger's Giant Mystery Egg.
It'd be kind of hilarious if the key to all of this had been hidden in plain sight, via wordplay, on page one of this story this entire time.
And it would explain where that egg went, after Roger's execution. It's been waiting for us to get to Laugh Tale. It's possible it needs the light of the Sun God in order to hatch! That might be the only type of "heat lamp" capable of helping it hatch.
This entire story MIGHT just be about waiting for this egg to hatch. Giving the world back to the descendant of one of the original inhabitants of the planet, that were exiled after Imu and/or the Ancient Kingdom changed the World, making it inhabitable for them. Imu representing the new, altered world. And this egg representing the original, natural state of the World before it was altered.
Literally awaiting "The Dawn of the World". The return to the natural state of this planet, before it was altered.
