Many crews in One Piece have the "prize fighters", then everyone else. Look at Kidd and Law's crews: are they weak? No. Are they weak for New World Pirates? Yeah.
Unlike Roger, Luffy doesn't have a problem with his Nakama taking the glory. Zoro openly stated he wanted to kill Kaido a few times, and at no point was Luffy like "nah, he's mine"
The Beast Pirates are the other kind of crew: it's like Dwyane Wade throwing outlet passes to LeBron: "Fuck it, Kaido's up there somewhere."
Anytime the Beast Pirates were threatened in Onigashima, the response was the same: "Lol, you can't beat Kaido."
Kaido likes playing with his food, because he wants someone to kill him, but when he gets serious, the fights really don't last that long.
King, Queen, and Jack are very strong: but, still, Kaido's presence held them back.
Why doesn't King have Awakening of CoC? Because he had Kaido. Simple.
Now, they don't. Have you ever seen a beast in captivity, vs the wild?
The Beast Pirates were being held back by their own Captain's ridiculous power-level.
Now? It's Survival of the Fittest. It's time for the Beast Pirates to evolve. I mean, King's name is literally fucking "King" and we have a Lunarian fighting in the Harley Mural.
Yamato will take over the Beast Pirates, and her Commanders will be King, Queen, and Jack. Ulti will be her right hand man, kind of like how Kinemon was far from the strongest Scabbard, but Oden's right hand man.
IMO, they'll also get Awakening, and I think they'll just be big bois. Ancient Zoans come from a time when the world had more Oxygen: dinosaurs grew so large because of their ridiculously rich Oxygen atmosphere. What made fire so dangerous back then, was the fact that the air was so Oxygenated that you could LIGHT THE AIR ITSELF ON FIRE in places.
So, I expect their Awakenings to just be Giant fucking Dinosaurs.
And then... Fujitora comes... dun dun dun...
King with Awakening/CoC is near Admiral level, IMO.
