… Lucci vs Kizaru (or Saturn)

I never would have thought I were ever to open a power-scaling/battle thread.

But here it is, I guess.

Kizaru (or Saturn) and an upgraded, - `vampirized´ - Rob Lucci (he got bitten by Stussy) are going to fight each other in the next few chapters - at the latest in chapter 1108, because this was the last chapter scheduled to be released in 2023 – the year for which Oda announced the surprising fight between “[…] that person and that person […]”. And now you know, why Oda said, it will be surprising. 😊

If it is a small tiff or a big and long fight, I’ll leave you to decide.

The conclusion will be: Lucci will lose to Kizaru, as this is necessary for further plot progression.

If you don’t believe me, than please, trust me in this: It will happen. Just pop in again, after we have seen the fight. :pepelit:

We have to rule these possibilities out entirely now, since Oda wrote in his Festa-letter for 2024 that "[...] at last it will happen, the battle between that character and that character may lead to unexpected results." This was December 2023 - last month. This tells us that we havn't seen the fight, yet.
And the reson I do not believe Oda meant the fight between Saturn and Kuma is:
- their short encounter did not lead to unexpected results, like Oda wrote in his letter. Nothing has changed the situation (The SHPs/Vegapunk are still trying to flee and the WG is still trying to eliminate them)
- In his Festa-Letter for 2023 Oda wrote "That person and that person are going to be fighting?!". This implies that we as readers will be surprising for us as we do not think of this constellation between two indeviduals, who are going against each other. With Kuma and Saturn, many here on the forum had expected the encounter, since we saw Kuma heading somewhere - for many Kuma going against Saturn and saving Bonney was not that surprising.
- The Egghead arc has not climaxed at a whole, yet. We do however know that there is something coming our way, but we do not know what that is exactly. And alone this implies Oda is holding back something, he is now slowly feeding us something bit by bit. And there are so many questionmarks all thoguhout Egghead remaining.

Chapter 1108 was the last chapter scheduled for 2023, the year, in which Oda announced the fight happening. So we should see it happening either before or right in chapter 1108.

Oh, I didn't realize he reiterated that it's still happening. But Lucci vs Kizaru is still a way less significant matchup than those three, so I doubt that's what he meant.
