Well, compared to Donnie adding a trillion dollars a month to the national deficit for an endless war nobody wants and the rest of the government lavishly spending all MY money like there’s no tomorrow (as well as a series of vile billionaires vacuuming up every bit of wealth in the country), there’s no reasonable way to interpret Mamdani’s actions as anything less than miraculous or triumphant…I will not hear any slander against one of the diminishingly few politicians who actually gives a fuck and does what he says he’ll do, accomplishing this in one of the biggest cities on Earth without kowtowing to corporate overlords is highly laudable and a damn sight better than what Cuomo or any other stuffed suit would do for their people

If Democrats were smart or savvy, this message would be plastered on every billboard and Fox News ad break in the country…not like this was a secret to the hundreds of millions of rational people in this crumbling empire, but it’s still jarring to see it stated so plainly. @Ravagerblade @sanjikun @NAMELESS and any other disingenuous conservative in this thread, how does this make you feel?? Of course not, I just wanted to tag my favorite snowflakes (even though at least one of them has me on ignore) and put yet another pearl before these swine…cannot imagine being so brainwashed, so willing to give up all sense of self for THIS fucking guy, especially when all he does is actively make their lives worse along with everybody else. Honestly, if I still thought of them as viable humans instead of dipshit lemmings, I’d find it pathetic; being that they’ve decided to burn their house down in hopes of catching their neighbors in the flames, I don’t feel any pity for them entering the “Find Out” phase of “Fuck Around and Find Out”

Such economic actions are often just populist measures which often ends up delaying fiscal deficits onto the future administrations unless permanent revenue sources are reserved. If he's able to secure permanent revenue sources then only this would count as remarkable but as of now it's nothing.
You can turn blind to it but I am simply stating the reality of such policies
So if our only two options are delaying the financial crisis or intentionally manufacturing it in real time and destroying lives across the country, which one sounds more beneficial to the people who voted these assholes into office in the first place?? This is a tremendous first step which is already further than Donnie’s cronies have brought us, and I would wager that the kid can offset any long-term effects with the wealth tax; even with the cavalcade of billionaire babies pretending like they’re gonna leave their city of comfort because they actually have to pay their fair share for once, there’s plenty of possible funding sources they can utilize without cutting social services…if nothing else, this shows us that it CAN be done properly
