As far as commanders in chief go, Gokei gets an edge over Coalition War Karin. Gokei is strongest Wei GG we've seen in the story. In terms of ability - the guy is one of the very best strategists/tacticians in the manga - and experience the guy is up there with the likes of Ouki and Renpa. He had fantastic portrayal and there were a number of factors who ultimately led to the Duke's win in their battle and not the other way aroud.

Karin's talent is huge too and her portrayal at the Coalition was extremely impressive. Karin is actually a tactical beast too and she should be an hell of a fighter. I don't think her abilities are below Gokei's. But on a "neutral" groud I'll give the nod to Gokei over the first Karin we saw, extreme diff.

Gokei has one weakness, as stupid as it might be. He just refuses to retreat from invaders. When the Duke was pressing him from near, he refused to make any distance between them, despite being able to do so. So, were this to be a war where Karin is the one invading, if she's able to enforce a duel she'd win.

Karin wins extreme diff mostly because she can use her army to pressure on Gokei and Gokei is not the type to retreat so she'd win. In a duel, Karin could beat Gokei but barely.
