General & Others Gol D Roger has become totally irrelevant and Luffy's devil fruit is a retcon

The more and more things play out the more insignificant Gol Roger has become. The One Piece was never his treasure. Everything has now shifted from GoldRoger to Joy Boy. What was the point of Gol Roger then? He didn't accomplish anything.

Changing Luffy's devil fruit 1000+ chapters into your story is a retcon. To suggest that Luffy's devil fruit is remotely justifiable to becoming one of the most mysterious powers in the series based off a random introduction by Who's Who's with a line of dialogue equivalent to "hey bro, Luffy's devil fruit is important".

It is clear Oda is writing things out his ass. It is really that simple. He does not have things planned out so he creates new story lines out of nowhere.

What is the difference? Finding the One Piece makes you King of the pirates. Why are you trying to separate the two? Also, if Roger wasn't Joyboy and Luffy is then why did we literally have 1000 chapters of Oda forcing the narrative that Luffy inherited Gol D Roger's will? So Luffy is both Roger and Joy Boy?

Roger literally said, after finding the One Piece that "I wish I lived in your time Joy Boy" which is why the whole Roger crew were laughing because of something Joy Boy did.

I think what M944 means if that a pirate could theoretically find One Piece and become the Pirate King without needing to be Joyboy's reincarnation, but only Joyboy is capable of using One Piece (the true knowledge or the actual treasure, who knows) to bring the dawn of the world and tear down the WG

This was foreshadowed since the beginning.
Oda had concepts of making a gomu2 tree instead of many different devil fruits.
Nothing about this a retcon' it just took Oda so damn long to bring it up in the story because his schedule is his worst enemy.
