Heyooo, this gone be a damn near all text threads since I'm making it from my phone. So I'm gonna keep it to bullet points rather than giant essay.
The recent arc that is happening right now has convinced me for certain now that General Tou is the most important General of the current Qin 6 when it comes to the unification. I am not talking about him being Top 1 or anything of that sort. And not talking about the conquest of China, but specifically for Ei Sei's goal of the unification.
Starting of the Unification:
Right before the very first campaign of the unification. Hara makes three huge meetings happen, Ouken - Ei Sei, Riboku - Ei Sei, RiShi - Shoubunkin. These three meetings discussed the future of China and how Ei Sei would be unifying China. They make a distinct difference in what it means for Qin to conquer the other states vs Ei Sei actually unifying China, in particular the one with Ouken.
The focus of all three meetings being on the people of China, and specifically Rishi talking about the cultures, values, and such needing to be unified.
Tou's development:
Hara since start of Tou's character has been building up his character for what he's about to do in Han right now.
- He takes over Ouki's army, estates and commanders. There is absolutely no issues in that. Starting off the series by managing something that didn't belong to him initially. And despite the change in leadership he managed to make all the Ouki commanders follow him and keep the army smooth n running ordeal.
- Using his own intelligence network, he was able the cover the single weak point that existed in the Qin-Chu border, and use 5k men to hold off an army of 50k sum soldiers. Which bought Qin a good amount of time.
- During the coalition he had set his eyes on cultivating the talents of Mouten and Ouhon, for the future of Qin. This would also carry on over to future arcs like the Wei 7 arc where he further pushes the talent cultivation of the young ones.
- Manages and establishes a newly conquered region of Qin. Where he's the sole person responsible for running it.
- In the establishment of the Qin 6, he makes it clear that he won't be fucking with any betrayals and will lead the other generals to put down whichever mf betrays em.
- In the Kanpishi arc he pushes Shins development by pushing him to answer Kanpishi.
- Now in the very recent arc he pushes the cultivation of the youth of the HSU, by listening to Kyoukai's strategy, then by putting responsibility on Shin's shoulders in how to deal with the civilians.
Throughout the series aside from SHK, this man essentially served as Ei Sei's extended arm of ideals. Where he's doing things that Ouki would've done to help Qin's unification plans.....and finally we come to his role in the present arc.
In the present arc he is now responsible for eliminating the ugly mark that Kanki's genocide had put on the minds of the citizens of the states. The mark of fear. Tou knows that what Ei Sei wants isn't some conquest of Qin being at the top of other states, what he wants is the assimilation of people into a singular identity.
And on his own Tou has started working towards that, so much so that he's willing to check Qin government officials, to help make Ei Sei's dream a reality. And this right here is the biggest fucking thing of the unification.
Upon the shoulders of General Tou rests the responsibility of the 1st unification of two different nations, cultures, values, peoples... what he does here is going to set the bar for the people of China. What he does here is going to set the base foundation for the unification. What he shows here in how to deal with the civilians of other nations will serve as the model going forward. What he does here will correct the genocidal fuckups by Hakuki and Kanki that put the Qin's unification goal at a disadvantage.
The Korean-origin General is the most important for China's unification... until the rise of RiShin... and it ain't a fucking coincidence Tou is pushing Shin towards dealing with civilians, that we haven't seen from Mouten/Ouhon/Kyoukai/etc. He's cultivating the sword of the king for when his time comes to take.upon the burden.
Let me know yalls opinion!
