TLDR:
-Ancient Elbaph was against Joy Boy, because they wanted a Giant to be Nika.
-Ancient Elbaph still exists in the Heaven World and survived the Void Century, but, like Wano, decided to isolate. Unlike Wano, they were never invaded, because the WG is scared of Elbaph
-Shamrock's sword Cerebus is named after the dog that guards the Underworld. Brook, V. Nusjuro, and Elbaph's Underworld are all ice based.
-Loki is infected with an ice infection like the Ice Oni (Loki lives in a world of ice and has Oni/Ancient Giant genetics).
-Heaven World powers its Ancient Technology with a Mother Flame
-Luffy needs to use the Mother Flame to save Loki from freezing to death
-Luffy is going to drag Loki's Giant ass up a beanstalk to the Heaven World, mirroring Drum Island with Nami and Skypiea with Enel
-By freeing Loki, healing him, and breaking into Heaven World, Luffy will become a Public Enemy of Elbaph

Elbaph has a large narrative problem: where are the evil Giants?

This theory operates fully around the idea that Loki is not evil. Maybe not GOOD, but, not evil.

Will Loki clash with Luffy? Yeah. Will Loki do bad things in Elbaph? Yep, dude is a walking chaos merchant.

Is Loki an actual antagonist?

-Befriends animals and promises to avenge them
-Gigantic "D" smile and laughter (full teeth, lips spread)
-Luffy didn't think he was bad (this is honestly the most important)
-Was attacked by Celestial Dragons for being unwilling to join them

Loki being an anti-hero, or even anti-villain, is very possible, but, straight up villain? Nah.

A large point of interest regarding Elbaph is its physical construction as an island. We have three Realms, or Worlds in the VIZ. The Underworld, the Sun World, and the Heaven World.

How do we know Loki isn't the big bad? Simple: he's on the bottom, not the top.

Every bad guy in this series has been portrayed from a scale of height.

This is a rule Oda VERY RARELY breaks in this series. Don't believe me? Get ready for a metric shit-ton of evidence, I have more receipts than middle-aged ladies hoarding coupons to turn cashiers lives into Dante's Inferno. But I digest.

Axe Hand Morgan: Luffy breaks his obnoxious statue built off of stealing funds from the citizens of Shell Town, which is placed as high as possible due to his ego. "The bigger they are, the harder they fall."

Morgan:

"My rank is the highest on this base... which makes me superior to everyone else here... THAT MEANS EVERYTHING I DO IS RIGHT!"

"This is a monument to my rank and power! It took years to build, but, today, it is finally complete. Raise my statue! Put it at the highest point of this fortress as a symbol of my greatness!"

Arlong Park: Arlong owns by far the largest/tallest building on the island. Luffy fights him at the top of it, then sends his Battle Axe up through the ceiling to defeat Arlong.

Alabasta: The Capital City of Alubarna, which, unlike the rest of the country, exists on a raise structure, was Crocodile's Goal. Croc wanted to take over the elevated city by placing a bomb in its highest point, the clock tower. Luffy's first fight with Croc in the Capital takes place in... the palace, which is also elevated. While Croc is defeated in the Royal Mausoleum, he is seen by everyone flying high up into the air, before falling down and collapsing in defeat.

Skypiea: Like, do I even need to say anything here? They're literally in the fucking sky. Enel is a "God" who lives in "Upper Yard" (lots of Celestial Dragon parallels there). Anyway, Luffy beats Enel where? At the highest point of Skypiea. After, Enel sinks down into the clouds, before rising up to the Moon (making me think he can become an ally, but that's another story)

Water 7/Enies Lobby: Luffy defeats Lucci at the top of the building that led to the Bridge of Justice, and Usopp saves Robin by sniping those sorry fools from the top of the Tower of Justice, as well.

Marineford: Luffy's goal was to reach the higher point of Marineford where Ace was held on the execution stand.

Dressrosa: Luffy not once, BUT TWICE, climbs all the way up to the fucking palace twice, once to get Law, and the second time after Pica moves the palace to the top of Flower Hill. Luffy defeats Doffy by punching him down from the "Heaven" of the skies surrounded by his Birdcage, and down into the "Hell" of the "Underworld" (the SMILE and Weapon trafficking port) he had created.

Whole Cake Island: Luffy (accidentally) blew up Big Mom's Castle DURING THE FUCKING TEA PARTY

Wano: Kaido literally lifts his war fortress Onigashima into the sky. Linlin and Kaido both are sent plummeting to the underworld/lava pits of Wano (Doffy being beaten in a similar fashion as Kaido is important, IMO).

And now, in Elbaph... we have the "Heaven Realm", which has conveniently been left out of the plot so far. In a series where all the bad guys live up top?

Did I mention the worst people in the world literally live on top of the world in a castle?

Besides Loki, and the Village Chiefs that dislike Hajrudin due to his mixed-blood, we have no Giant antagonist in this arc. And, let's be honest: are some rando Giants who couldn't touch Loki going to actually cause Luffy problems? No, we already know it took most of Elbaph to hold Loki down. And, fuck, just look at the arc so far:

THE GIANTS LOVE LUFFY. THEY LOVE THE STRAWHATS. WHERE ARE THE BADDIES?

Hidden in plain sight. Think higher. That's where Oda always puts the big bads.

The Heaven World is where the antagonist of Elbaph will come from.

In Egghead, we were introduced to an island seeking to rebuild the environmental and technological conditions of the Ancient Kingdom. The most advanced science on Egghead was where? In the clouds. Egghead was an island seeking to return to the Ancient Kingdom, while Elbaph is a Kingdom from the Ancient Kingdom that has shut itself off from the rest of the world.

In Egghead, the old "Gods" of the world, the Celestial Dragons Gorosei, attacked the top realm, Punk Records.

So, IMO, Oda is making it VERY CLEAR that there is some kind of legitimate, religious force existing in the Heaven Realm in Elbaph. Loki, a Giant with Ancient Giant genetics and horns, and acts quite demonic, exists in the lower section.

From Wano, we know that former Nations of the Ancient Kingdom took Isolationist policies in order to avoid the WG and piracy.

Elbaph is known as "Warland", and was famous for the old Giant Pirates conquering the New World. The Giants were known for piracy and war; ie, the Ancient Giants from the Void Century were probably not the nicest individuals.

If you look at Elbaph's construction, the three Worlds it possesses makes it almost impossible to invade (hence Shamrock's summoning circle).
-The waters are full of giant sea creatures
-The first stop, Underworld, is so terrifying most pirates just leave before exploring, and the freezing parts of it are a literal natural prison where criminals are left to die
-The second area, which you need Giant technology to use, is filled with strong Giants who will kick your ass, and we haven't even seen Elbaph's military yet.

Oh... that's interesting. We haven't seen Elbaph's Military yet? Where are they?

Elbaph worships war and violence. Historically (look at Dorry and Brogy) disputes were solved through 1v1s to the death. Who then would be the ruling class?

The Military. Harald was powerful enough to subdue Elbaph's Army, but, they had differing opinions: Harald wanted to trade with the world, while the Army/Heaven wanted isolationism. Why?

I believe Void Century culture still exists in Heaven World, but that this is hidden from everyone but Royalty. Think logically. If Joy Boy had the Ancient Giants on his side, would he have lost? Probably not.

So? They weren't on his side. Elbaph worships NIKA not Joy Boy. Nika came before Joy Boy. We've already seen Joy Boy in silhouette via Emeth: he is NOT a Giant, unless Oda is really twisting our balls here:

Rodo-san introduced a core problem: Giants want to be Nika. Almost all the Giants on Elbaph dream of being the Sun God.

Think about what that means. Do you think an island full of proud warriors, was happy that some little human prick named "Joy Boy", got the Fruit they wanted, and was the "Sun God" they had always said would be a Giant? IMO, this makes it likely that the original Joy Boy was a Giant/Ancient Giant (I think Nika was an Ancient Oni and we've already seen his corpse: Onigashima). The legends we would have of Nika from Who's Who would be related to, who? Joy Boy, not Nika. The kid with the spear. Why would the Giants think they can all becomet the Sun God, if the original Sun God wasn't a Giant?

Joy Boy DID NOT have the support of Elbaph's highest authority, Heaven World. They despised him, and any Giants who had the nerve to worship a pathetic "human" like Joy Boy as Nika. We see this through Rodo, and a bit through Loki; to them, Luffy being the Sun God is an impossibility.

So, what did Heaven World do after Joy Boy lost? Nothing. They just closed up shop. Maybe they realized they were wrong, but, even if they did, look at how fucking stubborn Giants are: Dorry and Brogy are best friends and they were trying to kill each other over 100 years OVER AN ARGUMENT OVER WHO CAUGHT THE BIGGEST DINOSAUR.

Heaven World NEVER fought in the Void Century. Their tech... their culture... it's all still up there.

They let the "lower" Giants do what they want, while they existed above them.

It's also entirely possible the Heaven World residents have ALWAYS hated Nika, who wants freedom, liberation, and laughter, when the Ancient Giants wanted world domination and military hierarchy. Either way, they hate Luffy/Joy Boy for sure.

The translation of Heaven Realm as "Astral World" is important, too, IMO. This referneces the Bifrost and the "Realms" of Ancient Norse mythology where people could travel to different planes of existence using the Bifrost.

We know you had to use Sunstone and Rainbows to reach the Sun World from the Underworld. So, I imagine Luffy will have to break some barrier created by Heaven Realm, in order to reach it, then use a Rainbow to sail up to it.

Going back to Giant Jack in Skypiea, I've long believed the Giant Jack was a plant from Elbaph, hence the name and Jack and the Beanstalk reference.

Oda loves his subversions: in Jack and the Beanstalk, a human travelled up a beanstalk to a castle beyond the clouds, where he fought an evil giant who wanted to kill him.

In Drum Island, we had Luffy carry Nami from a freezing climate, up a mountain, so she could be cured of a fatal illness.

Loki explicitly stated that Shamrock's attack was something he couldn't take. Loki has fought Shanks, and was dominating the New World before that bitch ass rat that stopped Kaido from saving Ace had Yasopp snipe Loki with Seastone bullets from long distance because you know that shit wasn't a 1v1, why didn't you take the chains off Loki if you weren't scared of him, Shanks, you baby back bitch until he lost to Shanks in a totally fair fight. Loki knows what he can handle, just like Scopper Gaban with Giant ass. Cerberus is a Guardian of the Underworld. In One Piece, between Brook, V. Nusjuro, and now Elbaph's LITERAL Underworld, we can easily connect Cerberus in theory to the powers of ice, freezing.

In Wano, we were introduced to the "Ice Oni" virus. We now know that Ancient Giants are connected to Oni through Elbaf.

Loki has Ancient Giant/Oni blood (he's got that Kaido rage), and is located in an icy region people normally die in.

All narrative evidence points to Cerberus having some sort of ice-based-ability; IMO, like Ice-Oni, it slowly freezes your body.

TCB's agenda-based translation "If that thing gets me" is lacking, but, in the VIZ, we get "Even I can't handle getting run through by those!"

Luffy is an honest person to a fucking fault. He's made it clear he wants to free Loki to learn about Shanks, even going so far as to argue about Zoro with it. Luffy and Zoro rarely disagree. Zoro almost always supports Luffy's decisions, unless he truly believes Luffy is being a moron.

Luffy climbed a Giant Beanstalk, Giant Jack, to defeat a "God" in Skypiea. Enel's (el... Elbaph? coincidence? Probably) main attack was "El Thor". Thor is Loki's counterpoint in Norse Mythology in many ways. Expect Enel and Urouge to show up at some point here.

Loki wants to be the "Sun God", and, like Enel, destroy the world. BUT Luffy promised Loki he'd free him in exchange for Shanks' info. Luffy lies occasionally, but he hates breaking promises. Luffy will go down to Loki, see how fucked up he is, and ask to help. Loki will tell Luffy that the only way to save him... is to go up.

In Drum Island, Luffy carried Nami up a mountain. In Skypiea, Luffy carried a giant golden ball (representing the sun) and Nami up a mountain.

Time for Luffy to drag Loki's Giant ass up a beanstalk.

The only issue? All of Elbaph will be trying to stop him from doing this.

Egghead was the Island of the Future, which was created reverse engineering Ancient Kingdom technology Vegapunk had found, and through... the texts Saul let Vegapunk read. At the end of Egghead, we were introduced to a giant robot with Viking like horns, Emeth.

Elbaph is an ACTUAL island of the past.

Am I supposed to believe the Nation that worshipped the "Sun God" never had a Mother Flame? We know they have access to very esoteric technology, but, Lilith has made it clear that Elbaph's ecosystem is naturally compatible with Egghead's tech.

I expect the Heaven World of Elbaph to be a technologically advanced society operating with Ancient Kingdom tech using a Mother Flame as their power source, and that this "Mother Flame" is what will be able to dethaw the "ice magic" from Cerberus.

It's a fucking Awakened Supreme Grade Sword (no, I don't have proof it's Supreme Grade, but if it isn't, it's a giant joke); if Chopper can cure Loki, fuck that bullshit. Shamrock was TRYING TO KILL LOKI, this attack has to have serious consequences.

Also possible Gaban tells Luffy about the Mother Flame. It's possible Elbaph's Army doesn't know about the Heaven Realm, too, BTW.

The point being is that Heaven World is NOT a good place; it's like Mary Geoise, in the sense that they don't care what happens to the people below as long as they serve as effective meatshields.

What caused Charlotte Linlin's insanity to begin with?

How much you wanna bet the rulers of Heaven World were feasting all day long while Linlin was starving?

Chances we see the Winter Solstice during Elbaph?

Big Mom... Mother Flame... Hmmmm... is there a connection there?

I'm getting ahead of myself, though.

Luffy will become a Giant public enemy, after not only releasing Loki, but breaking into a forbidden religious zone to save the life of Elbaph's worst criminal. I REALLY want to see Luffy see a Mother Flame.

Jack and the Beanstalk was about some dumb kid climbing up a beanstalk to mess with a Giant who wanted to kill him.

Luffy and the Beanstalk is about some dumb kid climbing up a beanstalk to save a Giant who wants to kill him.

There's levels to this. Three of them, the Underworld, Sun World, and Heaven World.

Time for the God of Norse Mythology, Loki, and the God of One Piece, Luffy, to take a trip to Heaven World.

Had to cook up something big after your return and Sanji's hype.

:kata:

Also, the image of Luffy dragging a Giant up a Beanstalk is just sooooooooooooooooooooo funny to me. Loki's horns get stuck in the stalk.

I think somehow, despite this post being bigger than Gerd and Ripley oil wrestling, I forgot to mention the Heaven Realm is a Sky Island.

We know from Skypiea that the WG historically has no interest fucking with Sky Islands. A Sky Island full of Giants?

Lol nope.

If I'm right, I also think someone will try to steal the Mother Flame.

Huh. Shiki can float. (looks up at Heaven World).

"AYOOOOOOOOO SHIKI?!? YOU UP THERE, BRO??? SHIIIIIIIIKIIIIIIIIIIIIII!?!?!"
