I somehow found my way here, and after lurking around a bit, I thought I would officially join this forum. A little about me. First of all, I love one piece ( lol duh right) and my favorite character is Usopp. I really like this guy even when he is annoying with his over the top cowardice. Speaking of Usopp, I think his father is underrated from what I glean from some posts here. Most people think he is the number 3 in Shanks crew, but it is hinted that he is yc2. The order they board the ship is indicative of this with shanks first, first mate second, Yassop third, and finally Lucky Roo last. I also like Mihawk who is probably my third or second favorite character. A bit controversial and unpopular but I think he is stronger than shanks. However, most people underestimate him and place him around admiral level.. when they are feeling generous. I feel like this ties into people paralleling certain characters with the strawhats, e.g. Yassop can't be that strong because Usopp can't be that strong, or Mihawk can't be yonko level because zoro can't become that strong. I think both Zoro and Usopp will become very strong eos. Zoro will definitely become yonko level and Usopp yc2. Both of these characters have that potential.

Quick question; how is it not generous to say Mihawk is an Admiral level character? That literally means the exact same thing as Yonko level

probably because I still think admirals are a tier below Yonkos with how Old WB seemingly bodied them in marineford. Although logically looking at it, the admirals are indeed a force to be reckoned with and their DF alone can put them toe to toe with yonkos. However, I think they are portrayed to be somewhat weaker in comparison.

Despite the fact Sakazuki is the one that condemned Whitebeard to death, received zero injuries (even from a bloodlusted attack from the worlds strongest fruit and man), oneshot Ace, Jinbe, Marco, Curiel, Vista and Crocodile after this fight? - baring in mind Whitebeard was so strong that his illness may not have even affected him that much - i mean, the guy took over 3000 attacks during the war. Regardless, Whitebeard was still regarded as stronger than all the other Yonko too, not just the Admirals. Oda's made it very clear Whitebeard (and Roger) were/are a special case in the powerscaling of One Piece. They aren't a good measuring tool for anyone.

The whole point of Admirals is to be able to maintain balance. They cant do that job if they cant go into a fight with a Yonko with at least a 40-50% chance of winning. Yonko = Admiral. There's four of each (if you include Fleet Admiral). It just makes sense

Anyway, calling Mihawk Admiral level is not underrating him. A lot of people consider Admirals and Yonkos to be on par. Watch this and you'll see where I'm coming from :)
