In chapter 1037, Kaido revealed his drunk forms. Unlike irl drunkness, Kaido's drunk forms are actually portrayed to be his strongest forms. Not only does do the drunk forms effect Kaido's physical body, they also effect his mental state. And as we know, mental state effects haki.
In chapter 1037, Luffy and kaido have a headbutt ACoC clash in which Luffy gets blown back. According to the official translation, this is what he says
Yes, Kaido can boost his haki via his drunk forms.
So that brings us to chapter 1042. In this chapter, Kaido heavily implied that he had future sight, despite never showing this power before. If Kaido always had FS, it would be an outright continuity error. I mean Kaido needed Linlin to tell him to dodge zoro's hiryu kaen, that makes absolutely zero sense if kaido was always a FS user. So what happened?
A lot of filthy wankers are going to try to argue that kaido has always had FS in order to further their wank. "Loro bypassed kaido's FS" they will cry. But the manga is really clear on this. Kaido never showed any signs of FS, he even showed worse CoO signs than big mom up until he started using his drunk forms. Then after getting the shit beaten out of him by snakeman, he accessed a new drunk form(the flirty drunk form) at which only then did he reveal himself to have FS.
It is just as what happened in 1037, Kaido used his drunk form to power up his haki. The reason we never heard of kaido's FS until 1042 was because he didn't have it. He can't use it constantly like Luffy or Kata, he can only access it via drunk form. The drunk form is also the difference between Kaido's new attack that he showed this chapter and his usual thunder bagua.
In addition to the movement being different, In his new attack, kaido is likely powering up his CoA and CoC via his homicidal drunk form.
