Future Events How long until Luffy uses Gear 5 again?

He might use it against Lucci, depending on how strong he is. He needs to be “in the mood” to use Gear 5, and it wouldn’t be necessary against CP0 if they end up being hopeless against Gear 2-4. He’s used Gear 4 in almost every fight since Dressrosa, so he’ll probably use that as his first playing card.
He probably isn’t going to use Gear 5 as often as we think. He still has Gear 2 and Gear 4 which were strong enough to take down Lucci and Doflamingo who were thought to be almost unbeatably powerful at the time.
In other words; if they’re not Admiral or Yonko level then it’s probably not necessary for Gear 5 to be used.
But of course, Oda could make Gear 5 a common thing but that would kind of ruin the feeling of anticipation. “When is he gonna use it? Who will he use it against?” If he uses it against anybody who’s somewhat strong, then the whole thing just feels… eh.
That’s why I think Luffy’s only gonna use Gear 5 if he gets pushed to it, sort of like a last resort/big finisher type of thing. If he can’t defeat the opponent with his other moves, then he just needs to hear the beat of the drums and go at it with all he‘s got.
Gear 5 will almost DEFINITELY be used during the fight with Blackbeard, which has been anticipated for a long time now. Luffy being the Sun, and Blackbeard the Darkness.
It’s so obvious at this point! Blackbeard will probably get stronger from now until presumably Elbaf and go up against Luffy to determine who the next King of the Pirates will be.
