We don’t even know if they’re dead and with this being one piece there’s a decent chance they’re not. They did fail in getting the one piece but most people are including cross guild
It doesn’t have to be big mom but we know he’s another failed pirate that lost his ambition, became a warlord, and joined cross guild

Again doesn’t have to be the big mom pirates. What we do know is that he lost his ambition as a pirate decades ago just like the rest of cross guild. It relating to some sort of betrayal
Tho it being tied to the big mom pirates in some way wouldn’t be surprising seeing as the rest of the other main members lost their ambition due to the other emperors
We’re obviously going to eventually learn of mihawk and crocodile’s big loses as pirates to confirm or not. You’re just saying random shit out your ass

Okay. And the rest of them have no statements claiming they achieved everything they wanted to achieve unlike mihawk
the reason it applies to them is because we saw it apply to them.
for example the reason it doesn’t apply to Boa is because we saw it doesn’t apply to her. Same with Weevil, same with Law. Same with Teach. That’s 4 other warlords who are not “failed pirates”
buggy isn’t Oda. He isn’t the narrator of the story. His words don’t become the canon of the verse. What actually happens in canon, is the canon of the verse.

so you’re saying Oda’s intentions for people to remember that chapter 0 page and remember those specific warlords and NO ONE ELSE as being the people buggy is talking about?

Like in that very same chapter we see buggy crying about how Shanks gave up on the one piece or whatever and yet we know that actually Shanks was on some vague secret mission this entire time that involved the Nika fruit

Since your idea is “Buggy’s words supercede what’s shown in the story”, should we just believe everything buggy was saying about Shanks too since apparently Buggy also knows everything shanks and Roger had planned too and he has decided that shanks was a bitch for not trying to become pirate king.
