THE FIRST WORLD
Within the earth there was fire.
Mankind succumbed to greed and touched the forbidden sun.
The enslaved prayed, and the sun god appeared.
The earth god raged, and with its serpent of hellfire, shrouded the world in death and darkness.
And they will never meet.
Conclusion: The earth god actually represents the ancient weapons being used on Pangaea. The serpent of hellfire which helped to shroud the world in death and darkness is metaphorical. Whether it was some kind of God or a Mythic Zoan, what it actually did was cause a Large Igneous Province event to take place and the result was a flood basalt eruption that created a landmass plateau.
A flood basalt eruption can leave a landmass with a reddish hue, although the basalt is usually dark grey or black when it first cools. The red color typically develops over time due to the weathering of iron-rich minerals in the volcanic rock, or it may appear immediately in specific areas where lava has "baked" older soil.
