One thing that needs to be taken care of by the arc’s end is the destruction of the Abyss that Harald placed in Elbaf.
We know the abyss connects Imu to Elbaf and that it’s how Gunko first teleported to the island. It’s very possible that by destroying that initial abyss, one could send all of the holy knights back to mariejois.
At the very least, it could send Gunko back as well as Imu, who is acting through Gunko.
Someone needs to carry out this task. The monster trio will obviously be fighting. Hajrudin and the stronger SHs will likely be needed to fight as well.
This is a task a weak person could possibly accomplish, yet it is absolutely critical to the SHs’ victory.
It is therefore a perfect task for Usopp. I think Usopp might figure out the importance of the abyss, and then destroy it while everyone else is busy fighting.
This is the best Usopp can do, given he’s too weak to even defeat fodder demonized giants.
