After Xebec's execution there's a strange time-skip, showing Rayleigh & Gaban carrying Roger & Garp on their shoulders.
The same Roger & Garp that were right near Xebec's body when Garling arrived and executed him.
This proximity is highlighted even more because Rayleigh confirms that Xebec was killed.
This means that Rayleigh & Gaban arrived in the same spot and actually saw Xebec's dead body.
But isn't it strange? Garling & the Knights of God should've been there too.
This opens multiple possible scenarios of how things went down:
As of now, I think scenario 3 is the most likely, because I'm confident this part will be revealed before the end of Elbaf (either in a little flashback of Gaban or a little flashback of Sommers) and will show us how the Knights regenaration can be countered. It would also give us Gaban vs Sommers.

- The Knights of God spared Roger & Garp and left, then Rayleigh & Gaban arrived, picked up their bodies and in that moment they saw Xebec's dead body.
- The Knights of God had just finished executing Xebec when Rayleigh & Gaban arrived, quickly picked up Roger & Garp and then fled, without giving the Knights of God the time to react.
- The Knights of God were about to kill Roger & Garp too, but Rayleigh & Gaban arrived just in time to stop them. After a quick skirmish, they managed to get an opening and ran away.
- The Knights of God were about to kill Roger & Garp too, but Rayleigh & Gaban arrived just in time to stop them. They had a prolonged fight and in the end they managed to get Roger & Garp and finally left.
