In the recent chapter Luffy seemed to have awakened his powers and confirmed to be Joyboy, his powers are obviously are gonna be something devastating and most likely the strongest power in the verse even above BB's powers even if his DFs are known to be the strongest Logia and the strongest Logia. Many assumed assumed that Kaido or Sengoku mythical Zoan might be the strongest but maybe it is Luffy's. Luffy without awakening and with his fake powers was a good opponent for Kaido even though his G4 transformation has their many drawbacks. sure he could have lost even without the interference of the CP0-agent, but Kaido himself admitted he was strong, and he seemed to went all out and was really beaten himself at the end, and after all that Luffy is supposed to awaken his powers, something that Gorosei fears the most and think it is just a legend which means whatever those powers are, maybe no one can fight against.
Kid and Law already admitted - even it is indirectly-, that Luffy is far above them, since they believed he will defeat Kaido with his powers, something they didn't believe themselves able to do, since even they fought BM together and they both used their awakenings and barely managed to let her falling down instead of defeating her by beating her unconscious. by the way the didn't witnessed the drunken modes of Kaido und they have seen neither his FS nor his super speed. and Luffy will have powers that surpassed all of what they have imagined, that can defeat Kaido mostly without any problems and a confirmation that he is Joyboy, the real owner of one piece, so either way they have no chance to compete against him for one piece or in combat.
so how will they react and what will they do?
In case of Law he is a D. , is already long time ally of luffy or you could say friend, and he wants to know the true history and the D. mystery, i am sure he will just continue to be exactly that and travel with Luffy to LT.
In cause of Kid, i have the feeling he is a D. too and might do the same as Law but no one knows, anyway he will never be the rival who we thought him to be. He simply has no chance.
