So we all know Luffy is the Captain and Zoro is the first mate but what about the other straw hats how would they fall in order of Authority?

I believe it goes

Luffy + Zoro - Captain and Co-Captain respectively, many times Zoro's demeanor made opponents believe he's actually the captain especially during early one piece where Zoro's noreity was even more than Luffy's at that time and it's Zoro whose often the voice of reason or laying down the law when Luffy may not be seeing the full picture or taking a situation as series as he should and in certain situations he has the potential to defeat Luffy which makes him perfect Vice/ Co-Captain

Top Three Commanders

Nami - People think Commander= Strength and although that has seemingly been the pattern it was never stated to be a hard set rule, Nami is the stern πŸ‘Š that keeps the whole crew in line and has the Navigator she has final say on what direction the ship takes unless Luffy utilizes his captains authority which he doesn't do often and although I said before commander doesn't equal strongest I believe Nami will be one of the strongest by EOS

Sanji- During Dressrosa whenever the crew separated it was Sanji who took command and is often the tactician of the crew and doing things that is in the crews best interests even if it means going against the captain he is often seen giving commands

Jinbe- As the most experienced and seasoned member of the crew he can offer many years of strength and wisdom he often takes control when the monster trio is otherwise occupied and the situation is out of Nami's depth

Executives- much like Kaido's Tobi Roppo I believe the remaining strawhats can be considered the executives of the crew they don't have as much authority as the commanders or the captains but they do have more than the grandfleet captains

Luffy - Captain
-------------------------------------------------
Zoro - Psuedo-Vice Captain (Right Hand/Wing of the Future PK)
Sanji - Psuedo-Chief of Staff (Left Hand/Wing of the Future PK)
--------------------------------------------------
Jinbe - Veteran (*Feel like Brook is also of this ilk but he doesn't really lead)
--------------------------------------------------
Robin/Franky/Brook - Adults
--------------------------------------------------
The others (Nami, Usopp, Chopper)

Hierarchy is about perceived authority, not raw physical strength.

Nami has issued more orders than Luffy through the story.
Has it been consequential in anyway though?
If we adding jokes and stuff then sure but I'm more thinking down the line of when shit hits the fan who can you really depend on to lead you and Nami's not really that. I get why one might want to separate strength from authority but they are intertwined imo.

With the exception of navigation related stuff which is Nami's bread and butter can you see Nami giving Robin orders or leading Robin?
Reason why I use Robin is coz gags come into play with every dude on the crew. Can see Robin leading Nami though simply coz she's more dependable. She also feels like a big sister to Nami.

Their Hierarchy is based on their Roles,
If it's about Navigation & Nami gives an Order, Everyone obeys including Luffy,
If it's about saving Lives & Chopper tells Zoro to go grab that Medicine, He must obey,
If Franky or Jinbe need the Ship to Operate in certain way, the Crew must obey,
... etc

If They are during a Fight, then They just trust each other & orders comes from whoever has the Plan or whoever is more Useful during that Particular Fight or whoever noticed something first ... etc

So Overall, They are all "Equals", but outside these Situations, if SH Ship was a Kingdom, then Luffy is it's Leader, Zoro comes Second, then Rest, just like Red-Hair Pirates (Shanks --> Beckman --> Rest).

If it's necessary to take responsibility for the crew, it always falls on Zoro's or Sanji's shoulders. This is a fact, not an opinion.

Nami, on the other hand, controls the budget and takes responsibility during the sailing. In her case, the authority in some aspects is even above the captain or number 2 and 3
