Roger having Shanks and Buggy. Xebec having Kaido. Newgate having Teach and then Ace. To a certain extent Kaido having Jack as well. Shanks - Rockstar more than likely could be the case too. These big time pirates all have had apprentices who go on to be powerful individuals once they're adults. And it's sort of become the mark of great pirates in a way.
With the SHPs I have contemplated since Momo's temporary joining as to who would be their apprentice. Initially I figured it'd be Momo since we also see him training with Zoro. But then I thought Tama would fit better (mostly cause kid momo is annoying). However, with everything that's happened in the story so far in egghead and now in this chapter... Bonney to me is the perfect apprentice for the SHPs.
We now already know Shanks from a young age was capable of doing Roger's Kamusari. And with Bonney n Luffy we already had this sorta big bro-lil sis type moment with G5. It's also one of the most wholesome moments for me personally, just seeing Kuma and Dragon's kids fighting alongside each other like that and Luffy essentially also giving her guidance in a way. She also looks up to Luffy as well.
With the question of Kuma-Bonney. I think it's very much possible Kuma parts ways with them for a bit while Bonney continues with the SHPs. However, more than likely, I think VP could stay behind on Elbaf to fix up Kuma while Bonney continues ahead... OR the one I would like to see, they both stick with the SHPs, with Kuma recovering his original self as the journey goes on by doing what he said he wanted to do with his daughter, travel the world and see interesting places. This will also tie nicely into when I expect Dragon-Luffy reunite, post-Pirate King.
But what really made me go "Yea man she 100% needs to be a SHP" is just this moment lol. Like bruh she just got that SHPs vibee.
But yea I think she's a great "apprentice" for Luffy as really the only person who'd be capable of using some of his skillset. And just a really wholesome addition to the SHPs in general (I'm also not one of the people who complain about other SHPs not getting time to Shine, rather I think Luffy realistically needs an even bigger crew.. so her addition doesn't have any negatives for me, where as if you think other SHPs are neglected or w.e, then I'd reckon those individuals would want to stick the same cast).
