They should,but its kinda illogic for Shanks to bet all on Luffy but then being an obstacle for him. Who knows what he will do in future to get the One Piece.
Maybe, but Shanks's role in the end might just be to ensure that the treasure doesn’t fall into the wrong hands (be obtained by the wrong people) like Blackbeard. However, his statement about wanting to claim it for himself is interesting.
I'm guessing if Luffy does end up fighting shanks. It will probably be silhouette Shanks (Holy Knight) that we saw during Vegapunks message to the world.
