When I try copying rhe link and tapping rhe image button and all that it just says "Sometjing went wrong. Please try again or contact your administrator"

What site are you using? Try https://imgbb.com/ and make you click the image and choose copy url. It should end in .jpg or png or gif or whatever. If it's .mp4 it won't work, not sure about other img formats like .webp and some other weird obscure ones lol.

I usually just use gif and stuff straight from a google search, I didn't know there was a way to do it from photos

Oh yeah that's why. You have to open the image separately and fully and link to the image directly here.
