Theory Imu is a lunarian who destroyed the rest of the lunarians

I think it is extremely likely that the skypiea arc was foreshadowing for the final war. In this arc, Luffy defeats a man who believes himself to be god. This is very similar to the final war, where Luffy will fight Imu, who likely views himself as god, as all CDs have this view and Imu is the king of the CDs.

Anyways, the main villains of the skypiea arc were the birkans, led by Enel. Enel destroyed his own homeland and subsequently colonized skypiea. While he is one of the sky human races, he removed(or lost) his wings and replaced them with a set of drums.

I believe that something similar could be the case for Imu. The Lunarians seem to be an extremely overpowered race. So one really must wonder, how were they destroyed by the celestial dragons? What if, they were destroyed by one of their own?

I think with Imu paralleling Enel, its very possible that Imu is a lunarian who destroyed his race and helped the celestial dragons take over mariejois and claim themselves as Gods, while Imu secretly ruled from the shadows. Similar to Enel removing/having lost his wings, Imu too is missing his wings. As for his flames, well we know that lunarians can turn those off.

In any case, given how much hype Oda is giving lunarians, I think it makes a lot of sense for the final villain to be a lunarian. I mean really who else could top someone like Teach and Kaido?

Lunarian genes will give Imu the perfect body. With advanced haki and an OP DF, he will be near invincible. Only Luffy will be able to bring him down.

Totally agree.
What if, they were destroyed by one of their own?
Its more likely that they have a weakness we do not know about yet.
While their base stats are great they are not invincible so it may as well be they simply got defeated.
Imu too is missing his wings
Assuming Imu ever had them. This is where circular reasoning begins.
As for his flames, well we know that lunarians can turn those off
Makes it even more unlikely.

The moment the WG got hold of Lunarian genes they used them to create Shichibibukai. Unlikely that they had access to it before through Imu.

With advanced haki and an OP DF, he will be near invincible
Imu has a trick up his sleeve. I doubt it is something conventional like DF or haki.

Finally a good theory and not just some head canon. While we do not have much prove for this it looks like skypia is a one piece in a mini arc. And Enel was ridiculously powerful for his time and Luffy only won because of his immunity. If the same happens and Imu is also way more powerful than the rest and the only reason Luffy stands a chance is because the Nika fruit is a direct counter to his abilities. It all fits, even enel was ruling from the shadows using fear, except the priests and direct subordinates no one saw him.
This fits very well

Totally wrong. The comparison should not be Imu/Enel, but Luffy/Enel. It will be a mirrored version. In Skypiea Enel was the bad god taking over the country. In Mariegeoise Luffy will be the good god taking, not taking over the country, but freeing them. Maxim was used to go to old home. Noah will be used to go to a new home.
