This chapter, it was revealed that Bonney didn’t actually eat the age age fruit but that rather, she received some sort of extract that gave her the power.
This begs the question, who is the actual user of the age age fruit? My theory? Imu.
Imu being a child is something people have theorized before. If he really is a child, then the age age fruit would be a perfect fit for him, as like Bonney, he would be able to choose whichever future he wants.
But unlike Bonney, Imu has lived over 900 years. This would give him the time to fully master the fruit’s power. Whereas Bonney only has limited use of it, Imu would likely be able to use the power to its full extent, allowing him to become literally anything that he imagines.
What’s more, he likely has awakening on top of that, allowing him not only to reimagine himself as he sees fit, but also the very world around him.
Such a DF would truly be fitting the king of the world. It would also be the logical next opponent after Teach. If Teach us the man with two DFs, Imu is the man who has infinite DFs due to the toshi toshi no mi.
This would also be a parallel to momonosuke. In wano you had Kaido, with the seiryu fruit, and momonosuke with the artificial seiryu.
Bonney and Imu would have the same dynamic.
Ultimately with the toshi toshi no mi being as broken as it is, I feel like it’s the perfect fruit for the endgame villain.
