Can't this apply to most villains? Don't you think Arlong was sad and pissed when he saw Hatchan and Kuroobi get their lunch money stolen by two randoms with no bounties?
I don't think thats enough to say a character is nerfed against the people they're fighting. What nerfed Doffy was him having to constantly stitch his organs back together as he fought G4.
Also this whole "Luffy and Law did really impressive things in the future so it's a big feat for Doffy to be able to give them a tough fight" thing is kind of asinine, no? You don't see people hyping King up saying "Zoro is the future WSS and will defeat/kill Mihawk" as it's not relevant to their fight. Sure Zoro will do that, but it's not like King fought that specific version of Zoro, so why bring it up?

Edit: BTW their fruits are only that valuable because of the immortality surgery and the awakening of the Nika fruit, neither being used in Dressrosa.

Arlong was sad and pissed! Both for his subordinates and his building and maps. As I remember it, might be wrong, it made him more open to Luffys counter attacks after attacking rashly.

King is a 1.4B guy, even slightly above Marco. The same Marco that the WG viewed as the only pirate in the world except other Yonko (albeit Marco had access to WBs fleet) that could beat BB. Before the Shichibukais new bounties and the Supernova trio got theirs no pirate in the world except yonko had a higher bounty than him!

Kings durability, not Kaidos, is in the Seraphim. Dude is a legit problem whose bounty might be too low. He chose to hide behind Kaidos shadow and his sole purpose in life was to serve Kaido and make him PK. Amongst other things it took Zoro to realize that apart from serving Luffy he needs to do it for himself in order to ascend.

Haki works bad against awakenings. Law and Kidd easily managed to magnetise and penetrate BM even though BM's haki was stronger.

Doffy's Awakened technique got smashed like nothing here by a superior foe. The gap between DR Doffy and Luffy is a lot smaller than DR Doffy and Queen.

Not when it comes to awakenings, you know it. 2v1 is not a fusion of their haki, individually they both Law and Kid were weaker at haki, yet their awakenings separately worked against emperor btw. I have no idea what KKG vs 16H. Bullets has to do with Doflamingo's transmutation powers. I'm not talking about bruteforce clash here.

Kaido is complete fighter already, there's no room for him to grow.

He is the finished fighter but, there is a big BUT, and that is his fight vs Luffy. Kaido is a battle junkie and I think he, like Luffy, has the ability to understand his opponents fighting style and tricks.

So if he comes back I think we might see a Kaido that might steal some of Luffys freewheeling style. In other words Kaidos stats might not rise but he could fight a bit more free, being a little less rigid or less unpredictable. Like his drunken style but on purpose, not due to alcohol. Seems like a lot of characters have issues against unpredictable characters like that.

Slept on for sure, ppl caught up in things like Luffy started fighting commanders after him but he was the first person that required g4, Luffy doesn’t need g4 to defeat flying 6 or charlotte ministers despite the scene with Ulti ppl also use to discredit Doffy when he wanted to deal with her quickly. Like you said Luffy and Law split the bounty the same way they and Kid had split values for the two yonko. Doffy is parallel’d with Crocodile pretty clearly and now he’s almost worth two bil on Crossguild. Sending Jack or Cracker to deal with someone that could beat Doffy isn’t the downscale people make it out to be it just means he’s a yc3 level threat. Kaido calling him weak doesn’t mean anything either anyone beneath a yonko level is weak to him he one shots Katakuri caliber people and Jack is his personal subordinate. Doffy has a code name identical to the card suits that the Calamities have and he was meant to go down in Wano. He’s one of the few characters with awakening, he had an ability that it took an entire nation to resist with actual notable fighters having to work together. Aokiji acknowledge his threat, he had portrayal man and you can’t convince me that some one like Perospero or Ulti would have had the same amount of glaze in the narrative. He might not be physically tough like Jack or have a crazy defense like Cracker (his endurance was pretty solid though), not every character is highlighted by physical stats its not dbz. Doffy is a technical fighter with tricky powers he’s more akin to Law in that way, Law isn’t physically tough either but he can endure some punishment, pre awakening he only had one lethal technqinue, and Doffy’s awakening one could argue was pretty strong and extended his capabilities like crazy. Its only with time that Doffy looks more impressive and its inevitable that he will join Crossguild and fufill that team up with Crocodile that was teased, he’s going to look fully on par with new world Croc. All these Warlords in the current story are being placed with 1 bil bounties aside from Mihawk and Buggy for obvious reasons.

If Kaido return to the story I think he's already strong enough to be relevant. I would like for him to change his vision of the world after being taken down by Luffy, a little flashback about Yamato's mother death, specially if it's somehow related to the WG, and a flashback speech from Rocks is all Oda needs for him to join forces with Luffy against the WG. Likewise BM not being actually ultra bad and the whole plot with mother Caramel not being solved may indicate that she has to come back, I would like to see not deranged, mentally stable Big Mom.

Linlin and Kaido are the versions of themselves that didn't achieve their goals, Oda depicted them like those pictures of the SHs at different ages depending on whether their goals were achieved or not.

What makes people think that Doffy should be stronger than his DR version is due to him using Torikago while fighting. It was a huge technique that probably nerfed the amount of strings he could use

Bird cage? It's pretty meaningless as long as you beat Doffy though. Kaido can lift entire island with ease also. If he gets awakening he can lift couple of them most likely.
