Not only one shotted, but dropped in the ocean with no ship. Could his crew stay concious after that attack to rescue him and Killer? Could someone else save them? Or are they just dead? Killer did say just before the fight that Kidd could die here, and Kidd dismissed him. Personally, I think that was forshadowing and Kidd is dead. What do ya'll think?

I mean, he had been defeated near an island that the SHP have a deep connection to and will probably visit in the near future, as that particular island has been heavily forshadowed since long. Killing a character off on that island would be a waste of plot-possibilities. But whatever - either the SHP come to Elbaph and see Kidd's grave or they come to Elbaph and get into a situation that Kidd is at least partly involved in.
