Character Discussion Is Luffy a good chosen one?

He is not. Where it says he was the chosen one?

You’re right, every single chosen one is designated as such, in those exact terms, on panel in every series…if you don’t think a character receiving every bit of development and physical progress in a shonen (to the extreme detriment of every other person in that comic), you’re really missing the mark here.

He is not the chosen one. Period.
And we had characters surpassing him all the time. Tenchihan, Piccolo, Vegeta, Gohan 2x etc.

Not a single one of them, save Gohan when Toriyama needs a second ringer, ever “surpassed” him for longer than the remainder of whatever arc they did so. Goku has never, EVER had to chase anyone down without the aid of a new transformation, previously unmentioned ability, or any other whims of the guy who created and lives vicariously through him. This guy is literally the template for savior characters over the last 40 years of manga history, I can’t believe I’m even having this conversation right now

You clearly never read/watched DBZ.
Piccolo surpassed hom during Raditz fight and so on Gohan.
Vegeta surpassed him during Android Saga and Gohan at Cell and Buu Saga.
I don't remember anytime he using an special technique. Unless for the new ones he unlocked during his death training. But we knew for sure he had those it didn't came out of nowhere.
Unlike One Piece and Luffy, Goku and DBZ are very well written character and manga with so few flaws on it. The story is no big deal but it matches it purposes.

He forged himself in my opinion and he died so many times I don't see much PIS surrounding his existence either or at least there's mo counter factual evidence 🤔

About everyone loving him at first sight I would go even beyond. It seems Luffy doesn't have the power to keep people on his side but he only have common interest. Like Kid and X-Drake for example.
