Hey, the minigame I like the most on Minecraft is Bedwars, I really love it because you can have a team where you fight together, you defend together, you can attack together, make strategies, you can upgrade your tools or base spawner or armour or make other upgrades to your base or stats, it's all very cool
But last year a game made by Valve, Deadlocked, released as a game you can play with private invites, you need a friend that has access to the game to invite you to it to be able to play it, and it is still in alpha and under development, and I like to follow what Valve does, and although I haven't played the game, it is supposedly like a 3d third person MOBA game, where you play it in third person, not top down like Dota 2 or League of Legends, but it is a MOBA because it takes place in an arena and you can upgrade your stats as you play
So that made me think about this, is bedwars a moba game?
For example the 4v4 gamemode
It takes place in an arena, with 9 main islands, and 4 teams each having 4 people, so 16 people in total, 4 on each team
Each team has their main island where their base is
The game is called bedwars because on each team's island base, there is a bed, and as long as that bed is not destroyed, if a member of that team dies, they respawn usually in 5 seconds
If a team's bed is broken, then once a member of that team dies, they won't respawn and they are eliminated from the game
The goal of the game is to destroy other teams' beds and then kill those players so they are eliminated from the game, whichever team is alive at the end wins
The base island has a spawner that drops resources, mainly iron and gold, that you can use to buy weapons, armour, and blocks, from the team shop located on the team's base island, and you can use the blocks to defend the bed, like putting endstone around it that's very hard to break, unless the enemy players bought pickaxes
There are 9 main islands
4 islands are for the 4 teams' bases
4 islands are located in between team's bases, and have a spawner that spawns diamonds, that you can use to buy team upgrades from the team upgrader shop located on the team's base islands, like sharpness for swords and tools, protection for armour, heal pool that gives the player constant healing while they are on their base island, haste that makes your weapons hit faster and your tools break blocks faster, and others
The teams can fight for who gets to control the diamond islands located in between their base islands
And 1 island is in the middle of the map, which spawns emeralds, which can buy very good weapons, like a diamond sword, or a bow that has very big knockback and is very hard to fight against, very good armour, like diamond armour, or very hard to break blocks, like obsidian, or other things like invisibility potions or ender pearls, that help you go to other teams' base islands and break their beds so they don't respawn
The base definition of a MOBA game is
"Multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA)[a] is a subgenre of strategy video games in which two teams of players compete on a structured battlefield, each controlling a single character with distinctive abilities that grow stronger as the match progresses.[1] The objective is to destroy the enemy team's main structure while defending one's own. In some MOBA games, the objective can be defeating every player on the enemy team. Matches emphasize team coordination, tactical choices, and real-time combat. "
