I’m sure a thread like this will get reported to the mods by triggered Yonko fans who shall remain nameless, but the question needs to be asked regardless of who it offends and what corrupt mods who shall also remain nameless decide to abuse their power.
The Four Emperors at this point in the manga are known for receiving very high hype only for Oda to completely disgrace them afterwards. The most obvious examples of this being Big Mom and Kaido:
Big Mom was hyped as being an invincible freak of nature before she acquired a Devil Fruit, equal to Kaido in strength and threat level, and then Oda
-Destroyed her already defective brain on panel and reduced her into a plot device rather than the main villain of her own arc
-Turned her on DF against her and had Nami face plant her into the dirt and attack her with her own Homies who are supposed to be scared of her
-Made the Thousand Sunny Cou De Burst into her mouth
-Had Jinbe pimp slap her 1v1 when she was amped by two of her homies
-Had Brooke speed blitz her easily
And in Wano:
-Had her drowned after Oda sent her falling into the ocean like an East Blue rookie when she literally has flying powers
-Then Oda destroyed her brain again and turned her into Chopper’s ride
-Then he dried to dress her up in a Kimono and makeup only to have Franky literally do a wheelie on her face and Brooke speed blitz her once again
-Then Jinbe treated her like a complete joke and he and Robin were able to roll her out of the manga with ease
-Then she ran away from Marco after openly admitting that she couldn’t defeat him
-And finally she showed fear of Zoro who doesn’t even have full control of Enma yet.
It sure seems like Oda doesn’t value her or her hype in the slightest. Kaido is also notorious for shit portrayal. He was hyped as the 1v1 King unofficially and as potentially the strongest character in the series who is eager for fights,
-Then Oda portrays him as a crying drunk after Doflamingo’s defeat
-He screams in terror like a frightened little girl at the prospect of fighting a non-full power Big Mom Pirates despite his life’s goal seemingly to find exhilaration in war?
-He actually seemed subservient to Orochi for quite a while
-Then he was shown to have extremely low pain tolerance like Cracker when he screams in pain or fear at every attack he takes and even at times when he isn’t taking any damage
-Then Oda portrays him as Big Meme’s equal in strength
-Then Oda draws him suffering PTSD from the only 1v1 he’s ever fought in his life and is living in a permanent state of fear over a guy who really only gave him a minor injury (again demonstrating Kaido’s extremely low pain tolerance)
For the supposed 1v1 king, he sure seems like a scared little bitch who can’t take a hit most of the time and is scared to fight the wars he claims he seeks lol.
And these two are portrayed as the current strongest Yonko, so what do you think? Is there any limit to how low Oda will sink to degrade the Yonko as characters and disrespect their strength? Why has Oda given Big Mom and Kaido so many low points but so little high points? Share your thoughts.
