Perhaps he even secretly became a Holy Knight, like Harald. Could have supplied Maryjoa with slaves. From him Caribou could have got his belief in "god" (Imu). Would explain why he was so diffcult to defeat. It is uncertan whether Blackbeard has advanced CoC.
Holy Knight Ochoku would of course have drawn the Abyss on the island. Blackbeard wouldn't know this.
