Look at the sequence of events.

1. Morley + Karasu clash with GB and Fuji
2. Lindbergh rounds up slaves
3. Sabo gets keys to the slave collars
4. Sabo gives keys to Karasu and tells him and Morley to clear out after the slaves are free
5. Slaves escape
6. Morley and Karasu escape
7. Morley grabs Kuma


At some point the admirals begin to fight each other after Issho allows slaves to escape. This must have been after Sabo gave the key to Karasu and before Morley appeared, which implies that Morley and Karasu escaped while the admirals fought each other.

Honestly it doesn’t really matter to me, when you got a fodder like Wapol escaping form CP0 and Sabo escaping what is likely the final villain + 5 people very hyped in the fandom because of dying old man helped him. I’m more than satisfied with all the damage control Oda gave to justify how RA succeeded. He doesn’t go so far usually. All the headcanons basically were destroyed
