With regards to the first part of this theory, you're probably right.
From a Sanji fan's perspective, the thought of him hitting a woman is inconceivable so the natural reaction is that the above is some sort of red-herring, which is understandable but the significant issue here that I think a lot of us are ignoring is the reality that Sanji himself doesn't remember what happened. Which in itself should be a major cause of concern.

It isn't that he is being falsely accused for something that he didn't do, he himself doesn't remember whether he did it or not. One possible, justification for this would be that someone manipulated his memories but that idea in itself is way too convoluted to be a possibility at this stage in the arc. So chances are that "another part" of Sanji was what hit that chick hence why he himself doesn't remember.

We actually have a very similar example of this kinda phenomenon in canon with Cavendish. Whenever Cavendish becomes Hakuba, he doesn't remember what he has done, so the ting with Sanji could be the same. It is also a bit odd that Sanji's hair color is yet to change. Keep in mind that in SBS, Oda stated that the hair color changes of the vinsmokes was a side-effect of sorts of the genetic modifications and now that Sanji is fully awakened it falls to reason that his hair color changes as well. The current Sanji that spoke to Zoro and is thinking about Luffy is the blonde hair good-hearted Sanji we know but the black-haired version of himself might very be the crazy one.
