Even an idiot can tell that OP is going downhill and I believe Oda is not that ignorant. So obviously SJ is behind all this mess, and not just OP but majority of mangas endgames have been done dirty. But if Oda was such a successful mangaka then how can they pull this on him ? Does Oda care about money if he is that rich ?
Personally I think it's all facade, manga popularity not just about the manga itself but about how the publisher invested in it. Even a shit writing like Harry Potter can affect generations, or KNY rised higher than OP ever was with just a good anime. The quality of manga is never going to be more efficient than a serious marketing.
Said in Oshi no ko, editor's job is to keep on a successful manga as long as possible, or bluntly said keep milking it dry. So majority of mangaka make a rushed end to escape them when they smell shit is going on, explained their mediocre last arc. But what about OP ? OP has a long history with SJ and is their golden chicken so SJ must have bounded Oda with a lot of contract in exchange of pouring money in marketing it. That is why Oda keep slow pacing so that SJ can sell merch, make movie, keeping their horrible anime and eventually, their main profit is the manga sales anymore, drag on its existence just to make a fake god for a cult.
