Break Week It's stupid how Oda has some characters "clash for days"

Like really. The longest fight Luffy has been in lasted 10 hours with Cracker.

HOW THE FUCK do you write a 5-10 day long fight in a manga, with a bunch a side characters around at that?

Oda constantly writes himself into a corner with all the inconsistencies but One Piece is so good overall that nobody questions things like this.

So will Luffy's fights be a week long from now on or does that only apply Offscreen fights...

Jinbe and Ace fought for 5 days apparently, Akainu and Aokiji's fight lasted 10 days

It makes 0 sense the One Piece power system is all fucked up.

Everything's not about fight but an established power system in a story needs to make sense...

You can't have a couple fights last a week and the rest of the fights in the story not even last a day like wtf...

I think they are there to let the readers know that the two fighters are completely even.

Not necessarily stupid maybe but it looks a waste of time just to pull some hype but then things get inconsistent because our characters fights last a matter of a few hours at best :josad:

I do think oda made a mistake with the days long fight but he was doing it to hype characters. There's a bunch of characters stronger than jinbe and ace like Sanji and queen. It took Sanji at most a hour to beat queen while it took jinbe and ace took 5 days to draw. Oda is never going to draw even a day long fight because it will probably take him almost a year without any time skips. It dumb to me to make days long fights because not only is it unrealistic but it'd be boring if we really had to read through a days long fight.

Considering the time span Kaido and Big Mom have been been fighting the alliance for too, makes this immensely more absurd too.

Thriller Bark had to be resolved in a night due to Morias powers and Dressrosa was only a single day until Doflamingo was beaten?

Absolute madness...

This exact topic has been bothering me for ages now, glad to see I'm not the only one.

Oda is the biggest nerd but at least he knows how fighting works to some basic extent
