Questions & Mysteries Kaido’s race and motives

Oda has been following the forums for a while now and he knows pretty much about all the theories and expectations of the fandom at large and playing on those expectations while not deviating from his original plans.

One of the reasons why the fans think that Kaido’s character is incomplete is his race, and while it was not explicitly stated or mentioned that there is an “Oni” race out there people have been speculating this since punk hazard but don’t you find it a bit weird? This alleged race was never even hinted towards or built up on unlike the Lunarians and three eyes who were specifically hinted to have Void century connections.

I firmly believe that Kaido isn’t an Oni and such a race doesn’t exist, both him and Yamato are just oversized humans similar to BM, WB, Katakuri, Queen etc.. and Kaido is wearing those horns for stylistic purposes same goes for Yamato and the beast pirates. And I think he only heard about Joy boy from Yamato and King and thought that it would be cool if he ever showed up but him wanting to change the world is his own desire from his childhood experience in the vodka kingdom

I think Kaido was born to normal parents from the Vodka kingdom similar to how big mom is

I think you're wrong. To me, Oni vs Kozuki is just as important as Korozumi vs Kozuki. Kaido has made it VERY clear that he has a grudge against Wano. I actually think the original Joy Boy was an Oni, and Onigashima is his skull, while the rest of him is buried under Wano. Wouldn't be surprised if Kaido was Joy Boy's descendant (hence thinking why he would become Joy Boy), and has been planning for Joy Boy's return.

This explains the weapon factories, too: Kaido was literally preparing weapons for the future Joy Boy's army. Ironyyyyyy.
