So apparently Kaido defeated Oden sama and his scabbards in less than 1 hour, as described by the "Legendary Hour".

During all the time it took for Oden and his scabbards to depart from Kuri to their destination, the execution place of Oden. Into facing Beast Pirates and got defeated. And Oden got captured, executed, and boiled. It only took 1 hour, the Legendary Hour.

Was that battle really one sided? Even more one sided than Whitebeard Pirates' suicide war against the Navy in Marineford?
We know battles in One Piece can take hours to days, proven in Ace vs Jinbe (5 days), Jack vs minks (5 days), Aokiji vs Akainu (10 days), Luffy vs Cracker (11 hours+), Whitebeard Pirates vs Roger Pirates (3 days), etc.
Yet this army of Kozuki "Mid Top Tier-Fujitora Level" Oden sama and his famous Nine Red Scabbards got defeated in less than 1 hour?

Doing math, the Genius Lord and his scabbards got defeated at least 11 times faster against Kaido the current World Strongest Creature, but from 20 years ago. Than Cracker against Future Pirate King from.. ~ 2 months ago (assuming there is no timeskip anymore until the end).

Wait, so 20 years ago Kaido beat up Oden and his retainers in one hour, but Fujitora and Ryokugyu can’t beat up Sabo and 3 Vets in an hour???

At least now, hopefully, folks can drop the theory Oden was drugged or poisoned in order to allow Kaido to beat him. A major antagonist like Kaido was never going to be dehyped in favor of preserving the portrayal of a flashback character who's main purpose in the story is to provide emotional context behind the conflict.

I can see the fight continuing for Less than one hour, bt only if Oden and Retainers were yet again tricked by Orochi somehow. With em pushed into a corner i can see Oden allowing his retainers to escape while holding Kaidou n others by himself.

Also if Oda can make Oden vs WB an even clash, i dont see why he won't make Kaidou vs Oden a good clash. More so when Oden is already hyped for being the only one to perma scar Kaidou.

I don't see the issue here. Zoro is meant to go further what Oden had come up with and this time the fight won't last an hour but many and see Zoro and Luffy victorious. It always works this way, just like Luffy will surpass Rayleigh during this fight.

This to say it makes sense Oden failed rather badly versus such a monstrous opponent.

Or you can look at it the other way and say in that hour Oden gave Kaido the worst wound he's ever had.

If your determined to shit on Oden go ahead, but it's pretty pointless until the actual fight is shown. There's still way too much to be revealed, with factors like the traitor and whatever dirty trick Orochi played (which infuriated Luffy in the present day) that can still play an effect. Even assumptions about how much stronger or weaker Kaido was back then are just that- assumptions.

But I do have to question anyone who sees that double spread, sees Oda hyping up a "legendary hour"... and takes away from that "lol Oden sucks couldn't even fight longer than an hour." Something that's particularly pointless given that you've already brought up Oden fighting the Roger Pirates for three days- after taking a named hit from Roger to start the battle. And we have stuff like him being dragged behind the Moby Dick for three days.

Imo it could have gone down 2 ways:

Oden is enraged and pulls a Luffy vs Kaido, takes a beating like Luffy but at the end when he is at death's door he pulls a Zoro vs Mr. 1 and cuts Kaido to finally die.

He even if enraged keeps a lucid mind and becomes ssj and battles Kaido but after a bit he is still overpowered and understands the whole fight was pointless since Kaido is way above him... yet when all hope is lost (and maybe he is at the death's door) he pulls a Z vs Mr. 1 and cuts him to finally die.

Either way Oden will most likely put his everything or most likely discover/unlock some next level CoA/CoC so that he manages to cut Kaido (and be the only one who managed to do so), but the effort is too much (or something like that) and at that point he dies.

I'm going to enjoy it a lot when oda will make kaido look bad first against oden who hasn't done anything but dancing during 5 years, and then against my boy luffy who will solo his ass after a 2 weeks training.

In all honesty (and without any kind of hard feelings): What's the point of this thread?

Right now the only thing I see is once again trying to bait or provoke other users that like a certain character (like 80% of the threads nowadays are).

Tbh i used to think orochi did some very dirty trick in oden's fight against kaido during kinemon's explanation to the strawhats in chapter 920 with luffy saying orochi did him dirty but from this chapter,i've changed my mind about that.
Luffy,brook and sanji saying orochi played dirty probably refers to what orochi said to oden in this chapter which made him dance for 5 years like a fool in the streets.This can be probably confirmed by kinemon's statement saying oden bravely protected all his retainers till his last breath which can be interpreted by orochi's secret deal with oden in this chapter.
According to kinemon,an event happened which led to oden's capture(probably an ambush(as they were surrounded) leading to his overwhelming defeat with one desperate strike) and execution in the capital,so his battle with kaido shouldn't have been an extreme difficulty one for kaido as kaido was present shortly after in kuri to set the castle in flames.
Maybe oden isn't as strong as we think or kaido was just that strong even 20 years ago.

Reading right now the offical translation and Oda simple hype up the encounter with Kaido vs Oden in some way I never see before after the timeskip. Also it was said Oden get many times stronger during his travel with Whitebeard and Roger and come back much much stronger. The hype who get created by Oda and seeing how Oden was handle in last chapter, im sure we can expect a good fight with Kaido vs Oden.

It's called Until the Legendary Hour, where the two Titans collide along with their followers. The battle that shaped the Wano into what it is now. It could also mean the battle ended within an hour which means there was an all out war and considering it was just 10 (Oden and his 9 RS) against an entire Animal Kingdom Pirates with Orochi's followers, I would say Impressive.:cheers:
