What if Kaido stopped pirating between 33-28 years ago.
We don't hear about Kaido during that time, we hear about WB, BM, Shiki but Kaido's name or presence pops out only 27/26 years ago when Oden drops his family in Wano.
This means that Kaido's debt to Linlin wasn't after Oden death but before Kaido went to Wano! We know Kaido hasn't seen Linlin for 20+ years so the debt is neither post Oden nor is it Yamato.
We all know Rocks survivors : Newgate, Linlin, Shiki and Kaido started being famous or started recruiting 33 years ago.
It gotta be something related to his piracy career, Kaido was captured after losing to Navy. Most probably, he was betrayed by his trusted colleagues that's why you see Kaido speaking about betrayal in this chapter.
This is also where Kaido recruits King and Queen at one of the Prisons.
WG were doing experiments on Kaido until Linlin came to save Him.
This will explain Why Kaido is considered part of Shanks generation despite starting solo piracy 38 years ago as BM and WB. It's not just about him being in 50s but also him having to restart piracy.
