Kid seems to parallel shiki, who was a rival to roger, as Kid is to Luffy.
As we know, Shiki was one of the few people to escape imprisonment in impel down.
I think it would make a lot of sense for Kid to be imprisoned in impel down, but for him to similarly have a big prison break.

- Kid is really unlucky. He loses his arm to shanks, gets imprisoned by kaido. Overall, going to impel down would be entirely in line with his theme of being an unlucky version of Luffy.
- Final war development. Impel down is a symbol of the WG’s tyranny; it needs to fall for good. I think Kid’s prison break will be the OP equivalent of the storming of bastille. Kid won’t simply escape from impel down like Luffy did, he will overthrow Magellan and make Impel down a major pirate base in the final war. Lastly if an admiral takes down Kid, leading to his imprisonment, this would be the perfect set up for Kid’s EOS matchup in the final war.
- Yonko Kid. After the final war, Blackbeard would have fallen, meaning there should be at least one emperor seat open. I think no character deserves this seat more than Kid, who seems to have wanted to become yonko by beating big mom. The prison break will provide Kid with his emperor tier crew. In addition to the army of fodder in the prison, Kid will be able to recruit: doflamingo, bon clay, donquixote pirates, possibly the beast pirates(if Ryokugyu arrested them), and possibly the jailer beasts.
