The ancient kingdom was a technological kingdom
In order for the ancient kingdom to be revived, its not good enough for the World's history to simply become known. Their technological prowess must also be revived.
This is why I think Kid will play an important role in the series even into the finale. Who else will revive the ancient kingdom's technology? Neo-MADs exists, but they're more likely to team up with the WG, as opposed to Luffy. While characters like Franky and Vegapunk are no doubt smarter than Kid, there is only so much they can do by themselves.
This is what sets Kid apart. The magnet fruit allows him to make complex technology, such as a railgun, with ease. The fact that he is a conqueror means he can acquire far more resources than characters like Franky or Vegapunk ever could. Especially now that the latter is no longer funded by the WG.
Kid just needs a boost to his knowledge, and he would easily be able to rebuilt large quantities of the technology that was lost by the WG. This is why I think it is very likely Oda will create a connection between Kid and Vegapunk. As many people have stated, both Kid and Vegapunk use the word "punk" in a bunch of their creations. Kid's mech was called punk rotten, his railgun was damned punk. Whereas Vegapunk's giant brain is called punk records, and he called his old lab punk hazard.
I think Kid could be Vegapunk's grandson. So far, we haven't actually heard Vegapunk's full name. I think its very likely it could be, Eustass Vegapunk.
In elbaf, Kid will meet up with Lillith and connect himself to Punk records in order to learn everything his grandfather had discovered.
In doing so, Kid will become the 7th vegapunk satellite, as foreshadowed by the number 7 on Damned Punk.
By the time Luffy reaches Laugh tale, Kid would have used his new found knowledge to make himself an emperor. Creating massive robot armies and powerful tech, resembling that of the ancient Kingdom.
Kid's character arc has been about him learning to accept the fact that he won't be PK, but instead an ally of Luffy's. Every major role he has had in the series has been when he allied with Luffy. First it was sabaody. Then in wano, he allowed Luffy to 1v1 Kaido(someone he wanted to beat), choosing instead to work alongside Law to beat BM. The culmination of this will be in the final war where he will lend his advanced tech empire to Luffy when he takes on the WG.
The combination of this high tech empire behind Nika and all his powerful allies will culminate in the revival of the ancient Kingdom and Imu's worst nightmare.
