Honestly Oda tries his best to make him and Law as Luffy's antagonist but they are hardly on his level either powerwise or storywise(RP etc)
I can accept Law's power would be trouble for Luffy for a bit but the whole battle between them and BM and Kaido is garbage ,especially Kidd. Even Killer was able to pierce through Kaido's skin but all Kidd did was throwing scrap metal at them. Oda lost a big opportunity to have him awaken his Acoc in this battle but on the other side BM never used it once.
I just find it really hard to see them racing against the SH to final Laugh Tale at this point. Once again it's Oda's fault that he didnt establish their rivalry for so many years but all of a sudden they can be on par with the crew by searching for a man with a burn mark or whatever.
