Ashura protected the other 8 Scabbards from dying in that Explosion a little bit brainpower aint hard to use cmon also Ashura would kill Kanjuro unlike that Garbage Kiku

A lot of the Wano characters were even more pointless, but you can’t blame Kiku alone since none of the Scabbards had enough brains to check if Kanjuro was actually dead.
Kanjuro should have gotten to kill both Ashura and Kiku. That would have been fitting

Kiku is going to be the 16th division commander of the New Whitebeard Pirates to honor Izou.
We all know who will be the next Whitebeard, Edwar D. Zoro. Any Nine Red Scabbard who has interacted with Zoro will be one of Zoro's Devil Knights to counter the God Knights.
Kiku's role on multiple teams all has to do with Zoro becoming King of Hell, and also as King of the World to challenge Imu.
Yamato has many roles as Oden. Yamato will join Zoro's Whitebeard crew as 2nd division commander to honor Oden and join Zoro's Rocks crew to represent Kaidou. Then at the end finally join Luffy's crew to complete the role.
Kiku and Yamato are the most important characters currently in Wano. Without them Zoro will never be King of Hell.
