So rushed they didnt Even show any haki. Like queen only used armaments once at the beggining of the battle. And king didn't used haki at all the entire battle. Like wtf oda, these guys have Marco and luffy level bounty but even smoker got to display more haki then them. Even fucking don sai or old chinjao, vergo....


Funny that king did display haki in Clash with sanji but not in his full battle with Zoro....

I think they also needed set ups in Act 2 for their fights, some early encounters with Zoro/Sanji and a chapter more a piece.

King’s speed form needed a dedicated chapter.
Queen needed to be presented as a realistic threat to.. any version of Sanji.

Lolda dropped the ball hard on Beast Pirates (who had a TON of promises) in order to highlight Wanonese nobody cared about...that he ended up offscreening. Damn. :catcry:

Yeah… I was looking through a link of all the panel time given to certain characters and Kawamatsu (literally who) has like 400+. Imagine if that was split in half for Sanji/Zoro’s main opponents.

I was actually surprised to see that Wano and Onigashima were going to be in the very same arc, tbh. I was under the impression that the SHs were going to liberate Wano before confronting the Beast Pirates, because that's just fucking logical from storytelling perspectice and I am not even a best-selling author yet. :catsweat:

It doesn't help that Oda flunked hard at writing (and investing his audience's sympathy with) Momoron. He literally does not become useful until, what, 15 chapters ago. Give or take around a decade after he was introduced, which was too fucking late considering nobody would sympathize with Wano without also sympathizing with him. We know how that turned out. catded

100% agree. I bought into I think Tekking on youtube's theory that the Wano samurai, pirates and mink would take over the Flower Capital first and Onigashima would be an all out war instead of an ambush. It really is a shame because I think King and Queen are fine for what they were created to be — foils to Zoro/Sanji and good challenges — but they could've been a lot better. Untapped potential IMO.

Lmfao... Momo still is only used as a means to stop this arc's birdcage. I can't say I find him endearing at all, he's a bad take on Vivi.

I'm not even upset about CoC. Awakening should've been a thing. Either a new form or a unique power. That'd serve to hype up Kaido who's fight would be almost immediately next too.

What bugs me the most is how Queen didn't have any type of virus, bacteria or pathogen to hit Sanji with... Queen the Plague but didn't use any biological weapon in his fight.
