Little thread to talk about those 2 kings.
Canute from Vinland Saga and Ei Sei from Kingdom.
Both have a similar story.
Relationship with the MC :
Both have a different relationship with the MC. But there are indeed similarities :
- Both started their King journey with the MC as help and protector.
- Both are friends with the MC. And the MC is likely their only real friend
Shin is Sei subordinate while Thorfinn is more Canute "rival".
What relationship with the MC do you prefer ?
Acces to the throne arc :
Both started without many allies, weak, with murder attemp for the royalty etc. Yet they make places for them to the throne.
- What acces to the throne arc did you prefer ? Sei one or Canute ?
Personal Philosophy :
-Both have an end goal of achieving peace through a bloodstained path, even if it means spilling blood of their own countrymen (Sei wants to unite the seven Warring States, to end all borders and wars, knowing that the cost and sacrifices will be many/Canute wants to build a paradise on Earth for vikings and doesn’t hesitate to get rid of anyone in his way)
What do you think about this philosophy ? Who between those two has the most realistic approach ?

Lets say both are in kingdom universe. Canute becomes king of Wei. Can he win against Sei ?
If Sei was england king would he have won against Canute ?
